I need to figure out how to get the tuning right for that theroretical box i was talking about 4 ports that tune it to say...20 and block two of them off and it becomes ~35'ish tuning

You know what would be sweet?

Something like what JL does with its HO boxes...the port goes around the inside of the double baffle, around the sub. You don't even see the port :)

Wouldn't be real practical to seal off for comps, though.

I'll shut up now.

well i won't be competing, i just like the idea of being able to make it really loud when the situation calls for, i'm more interested in making it look good as i know making it sound good will be easy('ish)

May have picked myself up another Neon....

97 DOHC 5spd Sport Coupe, 2 door, black, barely any rock chips, never saw one dent, new tranny, new 02, safetied a year ago, new balljoints, tires, interior looks like it came off the damn showroom, small crack in the windshield, runs great, immaculate condition, about 241,000km (~150,000 miles) which is a little high, but I don't care, since I will rebuild it with my forged internals anyways.

Market value around here is ~$5500-6000 CDN. Price I negotiated... $3275.

Seriously, a deal and a half, and wow, was it ever clean looking.

Will know if it is mine tomorrow :)

Gotta like the deal. How quick does it become when you build it up? Staying naturally aspirated?

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=4732#

With the DOHC instead, the compression ratio will be 8.8:1 not 9.2:1. No longer would need to swap the tranny, I can sell my $350 SOHC to DOHC adapter plate, and don't need to swap to the 97-99 gas tank to fit the high flow fuel pump.

150k on a 97...lots of driving on that one :)

True, it is, but, it is ALL highway travel, no stop and go gridlock here, for having passed the safety here in the last year, and new tranny & clutch, plus, I have a full rebuilt suspension, and forged engine parts ready to be installed, it will be basically a new car, especially with the freaking interior... not a speck of dirt ANYWHERE.

Well...sort of. The way I think of it, if you really have the money and inclination, you can really make anything a force to be reckoned with - the guy on SIN with the rear-mounted engine swap w/ turbo in a Del Sol is a good example of that. The car looked like it got beaten with an ugly stick - primer black, very simple rims...but would blow the doors off challengers that thought it was just another 4 banger, hehe...

Personally, I like the idea of a normal-looking car that has some serious power under the hood. Part of the reason why I'm not a fan of big rims in 90% of cases, I think they take away from that.

i love sleepers, but i'd want a car that i liked. I think neons are nearly like mustangs for me, its not the car, its the idiots that usually drive them (no offense) but i hate seeing idiots with mustangs that think they're fast as hell, idiots with neons with huge spoilers, stuff like that.

If by "Mustang" you mean ones built after 1975 or so, I completely agree with you...:)

Although everyone jizm's over the Shelby "Eleanor" GT500, a standard production model '68 or '67 fastback would be one of the cars I'd really, really, really want to own at some point. In dark green - the car from Bullitt :) My dad had one in the early '70s, had it stolen in DC

Idiots drive every type of vehicle out there... some are more obvious than others....

Sleeper style I am, no body kits, stock spoiler... only body mod I may do is fender flares & rims, but those will be completely functional.

That would be "Highland Green" and a '68 Fastback GT with the license plate JJZ-109.

Too bad those bastards at Unique (Makers of ugly elanor) are buying up all of the good fastbacks to make more ugly movie travestys :(

only mustang i'd ever own would have to have shelby on it, even those were nothing like everyone wanted them to be. but if shelby touches something, its worth owning

i think i'd go for something different though. Go get something that not everyone rices out. Personally if i ever build up another car besides getting my D@MN daytona running, i'd be all over a T2 omni, ugly as sin, fast as hades. But thats because i've a boner for the 2.2.

My dad had a Dodge Omni Shelby back in the day for like 6 months. It was a freak and the torque steer was hilarious :)
