Needless to say, he will be getting an SPL-15 and looking for an amp that delivers solid output.

Well that's a lot of heat lol

I'm betting he was playing a lot of notes near the tuning frequency of his ported box.

Yup, prime example of a very low budget "high power" amp and lack of system calibration. Needless to say he is looking to get a better amp to drive a single SPL-15.

Give chad the motor! Wow, shame with the rate of product improvement in the industry and the customers can still push things way past the limits.

IXL's a cooking and a clippin'.

I'd rather not say, as my loose fingers tend to get me into trouble from time to time :D

Since this is the first time I've seen something like this, a couple of folks over at ca.com provided some insight into what could have possibly happened. I'll be looking closer at this to see if I can figure it out..

Whoa! I've only seen that once or twice before (not on Mach5 products), pretty rare for a woofer to go up in smoke like that.

Lots of power I take it, Mark ?

I've only heard of an FI doing that.

What an ignorant statement.
