Can FI build this?

Recommended Posts

I couldn't find any of my pics, but here is the album from the car owner. The initial pics are from the first incarnation of the system. He then moved to an ID8 and then to the DLS OA10" witch he had someone else do and had it underhung. That was purely due to ease of installation and room. The Bose plate that I modified to house the 8" driver could have easily been removed and minor cutting done to make room for the 10".

And the DLS OA10, DLS 3-ways and last install by Audio Nutz:

I hope this gives you some ideas about construction and revives your interest in the 10" conversion.

im not cutting ANYTHING on an 08. that was the whole reason for doing the underhang design..no cutting.

The trick is to do it in a manner noone would ever be the wiser. ;)

Hmmm... can you offset mount the 10"? Push it so one side of the surrond is on the edge and the other side overlaps closer to the back seat? Easy enough to do with the baffles... magnets are small, so no issue there (just deep).

Thanks,

Scott

can you explain a lil better? I kkinda get what your saying..but that would mean part of the woofer is firing into the metal not through the 8"s hole. is that detromental to performance?

Make rings and/or a little "box" of sorts so it acts like a manifold.

Then let it hang down from there..

Just off set it..

Fiberglass the rings off set from the manifold itself, instead of centered...say 2-3" however far it would need to be
