God ain't that the truth....I had a ball joint break on my little 04 Ford Ranger, freaked the living chit outta me....was going like 65 when it happened and almost crashed. All-in-all, I like your car. I wish I could pull off a TC look, but seeing a 320 lb powerlifter who dresses like Travis Barker behind the wheel of a car looks kinda silly, lol.

LOL, I wish that were the case, I have yet to find a car that I feel really comfortable in....haven't really checked out the TC's though. I thought a Charger would be big enough till my friend took of pic of what it looked like, you can't see anything above my chest when looking through the windshield, lol. I looked at the pics of your car though bigjon, I like your car as well....very nice.

a i've seen some huge people in town cars and caprices...prolly a good 280lbs, and it suits them well..

I just like the tc's better because of the bags on the back.

ah yes i know the not liable thing, lol, my friends lug nuts broke off while he was drivin tire flew across the street and the whole front was bent, the tow truck guy was actually pretty good, lol.

oh yea and the back i just took of the red cover, i like the silver look alot better prolly, the on front one side fell off, while i was on my way to Cincinnati and i didn't even know tll i got there, just havin gotten around to either takin the other on off or buyin a new one for the other side.

was tryin to change my egr valve today, this thing is impossible on my car, on my dads 93 engine it sits up higher on the 94 it sits down by the firewall and all the bolts are rusted together, nothin a lil torch won't fix, but that'll have to wait.

you can almost count on the EGR not coming off... and im guessing yout replacing it because the check motor light is on.. and the scan tells you the EGR has insufficient flow...

but thats not the case the early 4.6 in the towncar has that problem even if you can change it out it will still code on you!

im prolly 380 or so and 6'3........ i fit in a towncar just fine.....

you need a paint job a new lift and why the f you got a cherry bomb?

pretty judgementel.

lol, that is dead on...

well, thing is it has to be either the egr valve or the dpfe sensor, which looks a lot easier to get too.

cuz i didn't have any check engine light on and then it starts to run a bit funky sometimes on idle when it heats up ie. when the valve is supposed to open. Could be also that the EGR channels are clogged.

gotta luv this site...http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/tech.html

seafoam smoothed it out for a lil while, but it still comes back so just to ease my mind, ima change it.

ah, i need to paint my hood yea, but u wouldn't know it from the pics, cuz its chippin...so eeh yea.

The lift works for me

and i didn't like the big ass ugly muffler that the car has, so snip snip, and instead of running str8's i opted to quiet it down a bit...also it was on sale at the time...

and f150 you talk to much. i dont see much wrong with his paint in the first place....and he has a cherry bomb because he wants a cherry bomb. whats the issue in that?

I think you can pull it off! My dad is 5' 8" maybe 9" and about 300lbs. He's a serious power lifter, mostly bench. His personal best is 615 so you get the idea, he's a big boy and he looks just fine driving my car. They are more than spacious even for the biggest guys. Take one out for a spin sometime, I guarantee you will love it!

I thought about doing some bombs on my TCr at one point to be honest, but that's when my exhaust needing replacement. I'm sure it has a nice sound to it with the bombs.

sorry lol, went outa town the same day i posted this...

but umm

1.no the rims didn't cost me more than my car asshat.

2. I like the color

3. wtf does rims have to do with with being black?

4.Yes cherry bomb, however i still have the cats on so its not that loud

5. I'm not seeing how its a ghetto lift? It gets the job done and doesn't cost much for what i'm using it for. I'm not about to dish out 200+ dollars to accommodate the needs of people who don't even drive the car, lol

6. As far as ride quality goes, its still about the same, i had it raised a little already and since the bags compensate for the extra lift in the front i can't really feel a difference, still rides smoother than any other car i have driven.

7.You dont need to upgrade with 22's, it's not a race car and stops just fine.

Yea Plainfield is like 20mins or so away, but really i can do all the work on my car myself

And yes if i was just bulging with money i would do some things differently, but working part time and being a college student yea i have to pick and choose. 3000$ on a big brake upgrade on a 93...gtfoh

It's not as simple as just buying new rotors and calipers, and as stated b4 i know other people that have 22's on there town car and have no problems, i haven't had any problems as to date

Bottom line don't be a hater all ur life  Thanks for sharing

NO. BOTTOM LINE IS DONT BE AN IDIOT ALL "UR" LIFE. do it right, or dont do it. Or at the very least dont come here and expect to get props on a chitty job.

oooohhhh, he told ya'll, lol. Dont buy a car to fit it, lol......I had a friend try that because he loved the mini coopers, it didn't fit. What I mean fit is not matching personality, I mean matching body size to comfort levels....needless to say his car would bottom out with just him in it..and bad and no one else could fit in the car at all.

here's what i don't get dj...

you seem to have enough pride in the car to make sure it's reliable and decently well-kept. why ghetto the lift? and yeah, it's ghetto. coil spacers were ( i say were instead of are because every hooptie in southern illinois on big wheels has done what you have done) designed as a temporary fix for sagging springs, not to crank them up to fit bigger tires. yeah it works for you, cool. but it still isn't right. it's definitely something that needs addressed.

your brakes do as well. you've just increased rolling mass and inertia. your brakes will work ok for a bit, but they will fade. and bigger brakes aren't that hard to do. if everything else you are doing to this car is done right, why not do it all? then you wouldn't get flamed. i hate to say it, but visitor is pretty spot on. if you didn't want to get flamed, why post the ghetto part of the lift?you could have just left it with photos on the 22s, and yeah, i think it looks good on the spokes, and i'd wager it wouldn't be like this.

again, not knocking anything about you, or the car, except the manner in which you lifted it. it's a cheap shortcut, and not a good one at that.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

djjd, people have their own preferences, so don't sweat it. I know some people don't like my car because it is not flashy and somewhat unassuming on the outside, and that is because I prefer my car to be very spartan in appearance. All I care about in the end is that you are not decreasing the safety of the car. :)

good job getting that EGR off... did you try and clean the pluming inside the block that bolts to the EGR its gets clogged.. and must be cleaned...... damn i cant belive you got it off!

Yea i ended up cutting the bolt, it made it come off pretty easy...

and yea i cleaned the block as much as i could too, all of the carb build up looked like silicon, lol, nasty stuff, i hate to think what the throat of the intake is lookin like....I'll prolly try to clean that later...

sigh-I'm done arguing about the brakes after this...but, those rims don't add a considerable amount of weight to my car.

-the old rims weigh what, 45lbs each*4=180lbs...the new rims weigh what 85lbs*4=340 so my car is about 160lbs heavier...

Not a big deal considering a car full of people will weigh that much or more... Also I haven't noticed any difference in my stopping.

funny how people put heavy stereo equipment in there car and no one ever says hey, u need bigger brakes and rotors.

Also maybe i left this out as well, the rims fit on my car fine without any modifications...

I can drive around with no problems on the street, on the interstate doing 60+ the dips in the road make my car bounce a bit too much, so to get rid of bounce u stiffen the springs....so i really don't see the problem or it being ghetto if i used an item like it was supposed to be used...

i would rather do that than cut out parts of my wheel well.

Funny, I never really thought about taking the added weight of the system into consideration when all the people are saying go with bigger brakes to offset the weight of the rims and such. That is a pretty valid point, lol.
