I'd like to clarify and understand a few details, although I am sure I will not understand:

-You have more money in your rims and tires than your car?

-You used spring plugs to lift your car?

-You have the stock brakes with big arse rims?

Yeah if it was a burgundy flake it would look really nice.

I agree with the spring and brake upgrade though. I laugh at people in my town with hummers with lifts and big 22"+ tires and wheels... and stock brakes... thats asking for trouble.. theres more rolling mass for the brake to stop.

I love lincolns and spokes also, especially on that body style of town cars. I don't think I could do the lift though. I like the smooth ride too much to sacrifice it. Looks good though (I like the color but it looks like you may need a wash!)

Look into brakes and suspension like stated before though. I'd hat to see something on that pretty TC get messed up!

djjdnap not sure where you are in indiana... but there is a shop around the corner from me in plainfield that does AMAZING lift jobs and custom fabrication work. top notch.

may be quite a drive for you, but if you want quality this is the place to go. they let me sit in one day and watch some of the work they do and i was more than impressed. lambo doors, lift kits, supercharger kits, exhaust, custom sound systems, etc...

with a lift like that, this thing belongs in the hoopties thread, not here.

sorry bro, but that's just pathetic. car has potential, those big lincolns look good with 22" spokes, but that ghetto ass lift is wrong.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

sorry lol, went outa town the same day i posted this...

but umm

1.no the rims didn't cost me more than my car asshat.

2. I like the color

3. wtf does rims have to do with with being black?

4.Yes cherry bomb, however i still have the cats on so its not that loud

5. I'm not seeing how its a ghetto lift? It gets the job done and doesn't cost much for what i'm using it for. I'm not about to dish out 200+ dollars to accommodate the needs of people who don't even drive the car, lol

6. As far as ride quality goes, its still about the same, i had it raised a little already and since the bags compensate for the extra lift in the front i can't really feel a difference, still rides smoother than any other car i have driven.

7.You dont need to upgrade with 22's, it's not a race car and stops just fine.

Yea Plainfield is like 20mins or so away, but really i can do all the work on my car myself

And yes if i was just bulging with money i would do some things differently, but working part time and being a college student yea i have to pick and choose. 3000$ on a big brake upgrade on a 93...gtfoh

It's not as simple as just buying new rotors and calipers, and as stated b4 i know other people that have 22's on there town car and have no problems, i haven't had any problems as to date

Bottom line don't be a hater all ur life  Thanks for sharing

At least the brake upgrades are functional, unlike the wheels.

As for the spacers, even you said you were having problems in Bigjon's thread. Being a college student is no excuse to do things sloppily, believe me :)

eh it stops just fine, if i felt it was unsafe i wouldn't drive it.

I would basiclly have to take the whole suspension off of a 98tc, the diffrence is i would go from a 10 to 12in rotor and single to dual piston. So yea i know what to do but i have no problems stopping. lol

as far as me having problems wt the spacers i was at first, because i hadn't put enough in there, i added some more and haven't had any problems since, they haven't slipped or cracked..

And i dont see it as being done sloppily if thats what they are supposed to do?

rotors are simple and cheap, its just somthing to add to safety of you and others around you... i know my 22's are heavy... and its a big diffrence for me to stop even with the ported and slotted rotors i have.

the lift IMO is just done wrong... im not stranger to lifting cars.. and like i told you there is a better way.. better and it cost about the same as what you have on there already... as you can see in the pics you dont even have that much spring left to move... so at this point all your joint movement is coming from the lower and uper ball joints.. and fords are KNOWN for breakin ball joints......

i didnt see where the rims had anything to do with being black.. but i didnt say that... but i agree it was un needed!

cherry bombs!... you know those are shitty glass packs and IMO not for a lincoln.. but if you like it shit MORE POWER.

the color is nice its a nice factory color and i enjoy it.. i noticed you have custom lights on there.. did you do them your self or did you buy them?

i know there is some youtube HOW TO vids on taking the lights apart and heating the reflective plastics in there..

and im no hater buddy.. ill try to help you on anything with a lincoln its how i roll

hows that gator coming!

I keep having to remember, Indiana is flat, I'd like to see all that unsprung mass try to come to a stop even around here :P

I don't know, I guess it comes down to what you're comfortable with. I wouldn't be comfortable driving for any length of time knowing that the key to my suspension is down to little neoprene blocks crammed in the springs, but that's just me. Some people are also comfortable with talking on the phone, eating a burger and reading the Wall Street Journal while they're driving, too, so I guess we all have our own tolerances for risk :)

I've lived in North Carolina long enough to know that not everyone has that attitude, but a fair number of people still do :( Let's leave it at that.

The race comment was out of line, no one supports F-150 on whatever the hell bs he was stating.

He could have just called the lift ghetto and the lack of brakes. IMO with light as stock steelies that car didn't stop well enough. I just hope you don't drive in a spirited fashion.

I just find it amusing that you went through all this effort and expense to try to make something look like it isn't. If you truly want to roll with big wheels you should do it right instead of just posing like someone who would. :(

u know i hate to keep trying to defend myself, but how am i posing? lol

Is that like saying i want to fit in wt some group and am not excepted so im posing?lol

and yes, IN has hills. Now if i had a smaller car i could see how all this would correlate, but i don't. I press the brake my car stops. Now the donk lifts, yea i would def. have to redo something but for my applicable circumstances i dont.

John i dont think they meant, slotted or drilled rotors i can do that myself as well.

They meant upgrade to a bigger sized rotor and caliper, and for my car the closest thing I could do would be to take the suspension off of a 98tc. Never had a ball join break replaced them and the tie rods as the tie rods have broken 2x..now that is some scary chit to be driven and all of a sudden cannot turn.

I just came from Louisiana cuz my grandmother just passed and was only down there for the weekend so i couldn't make it to the bmv, so i still gotta wait on my turtle of an uncle to get the title for me.

I guess sometimes it's not what you say but how u say it.
