Got my First ticket...

Recommended Posts

lol, after posting the above post, i went to work. first ticket of the night? sound ordinance violation. the idiot turned right at the intersection where i was sitting. just as he got next to the squad car, "BOOOM,BOOOM". yeah...and bassheads wonder why they get picked on?

and i'm a basshead myself, lol.

i so not fit in a car audio forum anymore...wow. going from potentially getting the ticket to writing the damn thing. yep.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Haha, that's frekin' funny! I didn't know you were a cop. Your components are amazing by the way. I'm about halfway don't with the pods now, finally got them started today!

i have never had a ticket before...

if i do knock in town i keep one had on my remote gain.....

i have been cought slippin 3 times.

thay allways pull me over and tell me to turn it down.. then tell me the effects i caused on there car from a block or so and then ask if thay can see what i got in there....

" OH the good shit" thats what is stated when i pop truck for a cop...

but i dont condone it.

o yeah... and it is crazy now days EVERYONE has a shitty stereo and feels the need to blair it no matter thier loclocation nor the time of day...

when im at the gas station some shit box pulls up and the shit owner pops out and walks in the store leaving thethere shit song playing loud....

if i did thay ALOT of people would be pissed off...

i also seem to think people perpously drive by my house and turn it up.... only 2 have made me do the video replay to see whom it was...

Cops pop people here all the time for exhaust being too loud, pisses me off because choppers & crotch rockets have no sound restrictions. I get followed all the time, and my car is very quiet. (quiet for a turbocharged Honda with a full 3" high flow exhaust :P )

I have never gotten a ticket for a loud stereo. I got a ticket for speeding once because I couldnt hear the radar detector. Cop saw the detector going crazy (I muted it, but display was still flashing) & he asked me if it worked at all with a big ass grin on his face. Yeah, I felt like such a tool.

Actually you got a ticket......because you were speeding.

I agree about the exhaust though. Many times it's louder than a stereo, and I wish they would crack down on those. As much as I want to say motorcycles should be given fair treatment with their exhaust, it can actually be a safety issue. If a motorcycle is in your blind spot you can usually hear it so you realize it's there.

on that note... last year I got stopped for doing 137 in a 55mph... the cop let me off with a warning.. it was a state cop , when he came to the window he stated while chuckling a little "now we both know you were doing a little more than 55" ...

the day I got stopped was the first time I had the car out to run it since the head had been reworked and the new full 3.5" stainless exhaust was installed... My plates at the time were HAMSTER and when the cop walked up "like a rinestone cowboy" was playing on the radio..

when the cop wrote my warning he wrote it for 77 in a 55 and told me to keep the speed in the hamster down :)

now that was a cool cop... :) I was on a two lane road in the country that nobody is ever on, he was on the next road over when he clocked the little green blurr..

Honestly, I had the same discussion with a quite a few cops in my national guard unit before I got out...which covers about 8 counties, and all gave me the same reasoning. Its not that they are "haters" and such because of a system but more of a safety issue. They also said they do it to try to ward off the same individuals from doing it in residential areas. All said if done in the appropriate place and time, they would have no problem with it....which basically covers exactly what some individuals on here already point out. :)

As for the exhaust, yeah, I can understand some of those. My neighborhood signed a petition for one truck down the road cause its exhaust, in IDLE, would shake the neighbors windows.

exhaust is a huge deal around here... well everything is..

I eventually sold the civic after getting several warnings for the exhaust.. I just got tired of getting pulled over, and I wasn't about to buy all the factory stuff to put back on. The civic was excessive at an idle the exhaust rattled all the windows in my home.. very loud when you got on it.

wow. I guess he didn't feel like writing up the felony paperwork.

yep, i'm a part-time officer. hoping to go full-time somewhere soon.

glad you like them componets. they were just gathering dust here.

cops are haters? lol, while i'm not going to say there aren't bad cops, most of the time it's not the cop. it's the attitude given to them that creates the attitude they give to you. but then again, it's gotta be the po-pos fault right? it's just gotta be. lemme tell you this, you walk into a crowd of drunk people, just you and your partner, and listen to someone yell, " there's 60 of us nigg**s and only two police. why ain't we smackin them down? comeon fools, there is 60 of us and only two of them" yeah, real brave. and then think about why cops give back the same attitude they recieve. what was we doing? enforcing the law that states you can't have an open container on a public roadway/sidewalk. and we weren't issuing tickets, just asking people to either get on private property or get in the club. but the cops are the haters. yeah. grow the fuck up.

i work close with cops... i like them.. most of them... but some think thay are super men dressed in black with a gun.....

and those ones i hate....

but its just like anyone else on the planet... diffrent stroke for diffrent folks.

i had a officer that likes me a whole lot pull my mom over in one of my lincolns and give her a ticket... he filled out the ticket with the wrong info... he got confused with all the lincolns on my insurace and listed the wrong year with the wrong plate number.

i called him up and left a voice mail just letting him know he made a mistake and if he wanted to fix it to call me and i would meet up with him to he could take care of it.. i did not want him to get into trouble over a small problem like that.... he never called back but last night i was working a wreck and he called me to the side...

he said. thanks for the voice mail.. but its not a big deal if it gets thrown out it gets thrown out.. she told me she was your mom but as you could imagen i get people telling me crazy storys like that all the time..... i told him... no problem borther YOUR JUST DOING YOUR JOB!

but then when i get pulled over and harrased because i have a nice car with big rims thats not right.... running k9s in my car for no reasons thats not right....

so what im saying in this long ass reply is...... everyone has a job to do .... but some do it with a stick in thair ass.

Ain't that the truth. Its like getting a mean person in the drive through at Taco Bell....it just makes you mad...whereas a nice person makes you smile, lol...;)

yea alot of cops are actually pretty cool, the last day my friend went to school last year we left in his bronco and went through the ditch out the student parking lot and the cop pulled us over and told us to try it in 2 wheel drive next time, but one pulled another friend and me over and he told my friend he should put his foot in his throat for smoking a cigarrete while i was in the vehicle? but evenually that cop got fired for harrassing other people the way he did us

It's very refreshing to hear that attitude. Too many people don't learn.

With a lawyer or some research it is VERY easy to beat a sound ordinance ticket; however, I surely don't condone your attitude or the fact that you are a public menace with your stereo. Keep it for you and stop disturbing others. :(

dunno about texas, but in illinois, it all but doesn't matter if the right vehicle info is on the ticket. you take it to court, the officer shows up, the judge asks if the defendant is the one who was driving and commited the offense listed, the officer says yes, you pay the ticket. wrong year, wrong color, wrong spelling of name. doesn't matter.

that's kinda generalized, but hopefully you'll get the point.

yeah i see what you mean.. but i never planed on fight it because of the wrong info.. i was just lettingh im know.. .. im just gonna pay the ticket i would be an asshole to waste tax money and peoples time.. not to mention my own time to fight a ticket that was justified.

around here it's an urban legend that you can get off if they make a mistake on the ticket. But in reality it doesn't matter, you still pay.

bigjon, way to do the right thing.

and yeah, it's pretty much an urban legend everywhere, though i wouldn't put it past a good lawyer to get it tossed. or a lazy judge, or cop who doesn't want to show up.

If you're not breaking the law you should have no problems and hardly even know they're there.
