recommend some 10" subs

I'm looking for some really hard core 10" subs for daily ground pounding in my '91 Vette. Three 10" subs in a TOTAL space of 3 cu. ft. or less would fit quite nicely in the space I intend to use. I'm looking for decent sound quality, but I mostly just want subs that will sound the loudest when pushed to reasonable limits. What I mean by reasonable limits, is the maximum output that can be sustained continuously without causing any damage (at least to the sub anyway). I really don't care if it takes 10 watts or 10,000 watts to get that max output, I just wanna know which ones will have the most output in this situation. Thanks for any advice.

You did not mention budget, new or used, weight restrictions, amp power, etc...

Based on what you listed you could look into Digital Designs 9110c's, or Fi Audio BL, or Atomic Audio Apocalypse, or JL Audio 10W7's, or Audiopulse Revo's. List goes on for great subs. All loud and clean. All these will need a considerable amount of amp power to get loud in small enclosure of 3 cubes total for 3 10's. I would not hesitate to use something like Sundown 3000D.

I'm going to suggest you get (2) 10'' Fi BL in that 3ft^3@35hz and a Sundown 3000d. Should definitely achieve what you want.

Haha, I only have 1 BL. I'm going to hold on to it until I try out a new box for it....which won't be for a few weeks. It's hard to find a good weekend to go home from school.

I'm thinkin I'd like to keep the cost of the subs down to a grand or less for the trio, and I would like to power them all with a sundown 3000d or something equivalent. I have a 200 amp ho alt, and a 1000 cca duralast gold starting batt and I have a stinger spv70 I could stuff in the back, so if I run some 1/0 wire, I should have enough electrical for it, but I don't want to have to do anything more than that cuz there just isn't enough room for anything else (I was exaggerating with the whole "I don't care if it takes 10,000 watts" thing). I might consider spending a little more than $1k on subs if it would mean a drastic improvement, but if getting one more decibel would cost another grand, than it's not worth it to me. BTW, since space is so limited, I'm probably gonna have to go with a sealed box, cause driver displacement and port volume won't leave much airspace to work with in a ported setup.

Three SSA Icons, Fi Q, Soundsplinter Rl-i would all work well sealed. I'm pretty sure Mach 5 IXL can be used sealed as well.

Yea I've been looking pretty hard at the IXL's - I read that they have good sq and Mark recommends only .5 cu.ft. sealed, so that small box would leave me plenty of extra room. I've checked out those Icons too and they seem like some good subs too, they recommend .85 sealed, so the box would have to be a little bigger, but it would still fit. Do you guys think there would be much difference between the the IXL's and the Icons in a sealed setup?

If you want 3 tens sealed or ported I'd suggest 3 Soundsplinter RL-i 10's .65 sealed per or .45 vented per at 27hz

But personally I'd just put a twelve in there like the others are suggesting. I'd go with an RE SX 12 on a Sundown SAZ-1500d. You should have enough room to port it properly and I personally have one in a 2ft box tuned to 33hz that i've run 2k+ to daily so 1500d should mate up well to it.

Like I mentioned I have a SX 12. I'm not using it at the moment because I just put in an RL-p 18. I'm not actively putting it up for sale but if you decide to go that route get ahold of me I would be willing to let it go to get back the space in my storage unit.

All these options are nice, but remember the smaller the box, the more amp power you will need to get the subs moving. Basicly, the bigger the box, the louder it will be. So, if you have 3 cubes, use them.

I wander if that .45 cu.ft. vented recommendation is a misprint, cuz usually most subs require more airspace in a vented box than they do in a sealed box. Anyway if that .45 is correct, then I could probably build a good ported box for three of them that would still fit the space I have. By the way, my max dimentions are 34" wide by 12 1/2" tall by 18" deep. I want to mount the subs to the front, and the back of the box will be against the back of the cargo area, and the sides will be mostly obstructed too, so any port(s) would have to fire out of the top, cuz there will only be about an inch or so around each sub, so the face board probably won't have enough area for front firing port(s).

As for the single 12" suggestions, I'm gonna post a new thread on that subject, so please just keep this thread on the subject of 10 inch subs. Thanks for all the input so far everyone.

From this topic, a pair of tens, probably ported would be more then enough. The BL's are a nice idea, but to get them to their full potential, they will need much more power then something like a SoundSplinter RL-i. Where as the above mentioned Icon's, IXL's, SSD's/Q's would be in the middle ground.
