i will be meeting with my partner later to iron out more details but for now a rough idea would be helpfull to give him and my self an idea of what were looking at....

you probably need some PA subs since that bus is so much bigger than a normal vehicle.

Just something to keep in mind, a lot of woofers that people use in "normal" size vehicles work really well at home...in spaces a lot larger than a bus :) Just because something says it's for public-address use doesn't mean anything really special.

What's the interior going to look like - will there be any other places you could build speakers into (and hide wires, etc...)? I'm thinking something like Radian in-wall speakers, maybe three on each side.

I was thinking the same thing. Like some 18's in a big ported box. And some PA-style mids & highs, too. Like a 10" and a horn, or something.

Now that you posted that, I like that better. Sorry Shizzam. I mean on.

3-4 6.5's and tweets on each side. I still like the 18 though :)

i was just at the shop but i had to run as the wrecker company keeps me so busy.. i will get more pics tonight.

but i know i can run wires. thru the light mount holes in the insides of the walls.. my first thought was to put 6 or so full range or coaxels and then do 2 15's or 18's but my budget keeps me from going huge on it.

what do those Radian's run price wise... and any thoughts on cheap amps to run this build.

I've got some Madison X 21" PA subwoofers, 4" voice coil 1000watt rms rated... THey're just hanging out in the store room...

I got ambitious when I dj'ed and bought four of them, used one and the rest sat. the one in 4.5cubes tuned at 30 was enough to rattle the heck out of our biggest nightclub. You could feel it in you chest when you walked in the door.. dance floor was 6500 square feet

I ran the one on 2.5k with no issues (other than frying the home-made passive x-overs) :)

http://www.carvinguitars.com/speakers.php

when i used to DJ we ran speakers from these guys, 4 x 15" 2 way cabinets, and 1 x 18" subwoofer with about 5kw of Crown power. killer stuff for the money and you don't pay much cause it's factory direct. i also had a set of 4 cerwin vega pa speakers, i believe they were called v-152 or something, those were great as well. that will be a acoustic challenge, good luck. you will most likely need alot of foam

^the only thing about those is that in a noisy environment like that the midbass presence of a large diameter (12, 15 etc) full range driver works best. we used smaller satellites and sub at different venues and i don't think it'll have the "ooomph" that you are looking for in a loud bus at highway speeds even with the sub.

The Dayton audio drivers are great/affordable drivers. I run all dayton for my home theater and couldn't be happier.

as for the specific one's your looking at... I've never had that particular speaker but I am very familiar with their raw woofers (I build my own cabinets and x-overs)

very good products

sound great and affordable to boot..

maybe try the 8" version

77% more cone area

but then it's also 66% more cost....:|

I'll look at the raw's and see if there's a good 10"mid/tweet combo...
