Dreams..........

Recommended Posts

Okay guys, I just woke up from the best dream of my life! I imagined that I had two IA DP 21"s walled off in my Dodge Stratus running off of my SAZ 3000D. It was an awesome dream and I want to make it come true, I have the 3000D and am currently working on the electrical system to run it, I just need a few more batteries! :D Do you guys think it is even possible? I don't care about my back seats really...It's 4:45 AM right now, so I don't expect anyone to reply anytime soon.

rip out the back seat and rear deck (maybe get more room if you cut out any metal back there), wall it, weld the trunk shut, and call it a day.

Well the DP 21"s take 7.5-10 cubes, what do you think I could get out of my car? Are you saying run it IB, or just build a big box?

2 21's + Dodge Stratus= Problems. If you start cutting metal the car is weakened even more that already is, and with the bass energy those 21's generate, that car will fall apart, the dash electronics will be the first to go, all sorts of chit will happen. You might want to get a case of silicone to hold your dash and door panels together. You might do what I did: Find an older S-10 Blazer and put them in that as your boomer ride only. It may be actually cheaper in the long run than repairing the Stratus. Just a thought from someone who has been down that road and seen many others do the same.

I was actaully thinking about doing this to my camry. As I have I'll have it paid off in a month and then I buy a new car. I was going to try 2 18" death rows.

I'm sure they will pound, but the stratus, and most Chrysler products hate being subjected to modification. Back in 1997 we had a demo Stratus with 2 Image Dynamics IDW 15s on 2 Zapco studio 500s in it and this car fell apart in about 4 months. When you have to take the wheel off of to get to the battery, that tells you trouble is on the way. Anyway, I would use that Stratus as your grocery-getter, and put the system in something else. It would save you the trouble of massive repairs and save a ton of money.

I went from 2 bl 18's down to 1 btl 18 in my Nissan for this reason. I found a used S-10 Blazer here for 800.00 and that will get the big system. They are like little battleships, they are solid.

Well I have been pounding at mine for over a year, the rear pillar panels have popped off, my windshield is cracked, I swear it made the passenger side door panel come off too! Thanks for the heads up, I will be checking the Classifieds now!

don't do it.

As stated before,it would require modification to the rear deck which will weaken the rear structure. You could do 1 21 without cutting the rear deck but now you still have the problem of everything getting damaged in the long run.

I've damaged a Catalytic Converter... 3x in the same car a few years ago due to the excessive low end from a stereo install. IF you don't know you've damaged it, it can cause severe breathing issues for your engine.

I have another car's transmission fail in the long run that i blame the stereo system for. So much horsepower was lost in this 4 cylinder i had a long, long, long time ago that it struggled to switch gears.

my friend cut out the ENTIRE rear deck of his neon and has 2 level 5 18s walled and no problems as far as anything falling apart with the body/car goes

Well if I did anything I wouldn't cut any metal, I just wall it and go with the angle of the window and, if needed, use the trunk too.
