ground point

Recommended Posts

i plan on running a power and ground directly to my amps from under the hood. i dont really want to ground into the trunk. does this make a difference? i am also going to do the big 3 upgrade. kicker zx2500.1, and a zx650.4 are the amps. 2 optima 34/78 yellow tops.

Why don't you want to ground in the trunk? There shouldn't be a difference.

Don't waste the money on running all that extra wire. Find a good grounding spot in the trunk like KU said. Preferably close to a frame rail or something. If you want check it with a meter.

Make sure to sand off any paint and use a star style lock washer.

true. good looking out. didnt know if my ground would be that much more solid because of a direct connection to the battery. i also wanted to do it cause i thought it looked kinda good. so when u use a meter what setting are you to put it on and what should it be reading?

so what is the difference of people who have multiple runs of wire? does it only make a difference for power wire?

When you start chasing tenths on the Term-lab it can make a diffrence. I'm confident running a separate ground wire straight to the battery isn't going to make an audible diffrence.
