Sold my Current system this pas week, along with a old fender amp, and cashed in some savings bonds, brought me out to

1124$

I have spent about an hour to 2 hours picking out what I'm gonna get and I've pretty much narrowed it down after looking over multiple options and I've finally got it down pat!

Subwoofer: Fi BTL 18" fully loaded

Amp: Massive Audio P1500.1 3000W Class D Pro Series Amplifier

Capacitor: SPL CP5.0 5 Farad Capacitor

In all left me with 179$ which, I honestly didn't think I would come out with that speaking shipping etc.

So, I'm hoping to use that to buy a box or have one made, so tell me what you think!

Sadly, I'm still using my stock head unit. Mostly for the fact that it gives my doors a whopping 400w, as the dealership It was bought off of and my local audio store, but, hopefully Head unit will be next. I'm thinking about investing the 179$ in a head unit or a box who knows, haha, it will come to me eventually. :]

Wait I just thought about it, I am going to have to get a new head unit, my old system use to make it skip past 4 but, would go up to 12 with the windows down, I probably won't be able to even put it past 2-3 with a BTL. :[

Honestly, I don't plan on putting a new bat or alt I just put brand new ones on it 130amp with 1200 CA bat so, Honestly think I'll do fine with just a capacitor.

Save the money from the cap, add it to the $179 and get a good HU. Do the "big3" wire upgrade, and you'll be more than fine. What kinda wire do you have for the amp? $60 for suplies to build your own box.

I am running 2 Ga wire atm, and my dad use to own a audio store so he is going to help me with building the box.

I'm thinking 22" H, 34" W, 25" D with 1" MDF will do fine.

You'll need to factor in upgrading the wire as well, 2 awg and that amp are not compatible

I took power cap off and added 40$ to the total I'll have around 321$ stinger 0 GA is gonna run about 90$ so, I'm thinkin this it gonna help out afterall maybe a clarion head unit and be done with it

Ya know there is a think called shopping around, But, whatever my questions have been answered, I'm done here.

And he's trying to help you SAVE money. Buying a cap is only a bandaid. In the end, you would have ended up wasting money on a cap, and then you would have had to buy a new battery or alternator anyways.

Last time I checked, batteries and alternators weren't running a million dollars...But don't worry. 3000 watts on a stock electrical is a REALLY smart idea. At least that's the vibe I get from you.

haha wow this thread went way off course but whatever i don't care its not my money or equipment. a 5farad cap isn't enough might wanna look into atleast a 10farad to be on the safe side.
