Eclipse CD3100

Image Dynamics CTX6.5 coax speakers

Sundown audio SAX-100.4

and a pair of Sundown audio SD-1 V1 12s

of corse the coaxs and subs are going to be ran off the 100.4

CD3100 installed

002-13.jpg

coaxs installed

Ive still gotta run the 1/0g wire and hook up the 100.4 tomorrow before work

also Ive still gotta build the box for the subs too and the truck needs a major clean up Ill probably end up steam cleaning the seats and cleaning up the vynal flooring its got in it. the flooring will probably get trashed and swapped out for carpet late this year or early next year

OK as many of you fellow Silverado owners know its pretty much impossable to run power wire through the firewall well I just found this out so instead of using the 1/0g wire like I planned to I went up and picked up a tsunami power wire kit and some flex loom and ran it under the truck.

On an 02 there is already a grommeted hole you can use for the power wire. Easiest vehicle I have ever run power wire through the firewall on in fact.

ah I didnt see it I saw a few grommits but they appeared to be up way too high doing it this way eliminates the problem I thaught I could possably have of being able to tell that there is a wire under the flooring. honestly my 2005 cavalier was pretty easy there is a huge grommit right around the steering column I fit at one time a total of 6 runs through there

I think me and you are in the same boat loudcav. I've seen pictures of 02 trucks with this cool little grommet right by the master cylinder that is perfect for 1/0, but I looked on my truck today and there is no hole and its not easy to get a drill in that area.

Down in the drivers kick, pull out (move out of the way) the fuse/relay panel

there should be iirc a fair sized grommet, you should be able to get 1/0 through there without much issue

ya I looked at alot of areas and just running the wire under the truck seemed to be the safest bet since I could easily guarantee that when I drilled I wasnt going to go through anything that I didnt want to

OK Ive been working on the truck a bit today working on deadening the doors just a bit. in the end Ill have 6sq feet of dynamat extreme and some Second skin Sludge on each door Ive got a lil bit less than a gallon of the sludge for the job and it should all get used.

005-4.jpg

004-6.jpg

door prepped for install

003-10.jpg

the door that Ive pretty much got done all thats left to do on that one is let it cure till Sunday then Ill put the pannel back on and clean up the lil bit of sludge that I made a bit of a mess with

Ive also decided to just stick with the SD-1 12s here hopefuly next week Ill get a box built for them Im lacking a bit on space so the box is going to be around 1.4 cubes for the pair with probably 2lbs of polly fill to make up for the lack of space so hopefuly that will help. I also did a bit of ghetto math today and figured out that right not for the pair Ive only got 1.3 cubes no pollyfill and they are seprate chambers and Im fairly happy with what Ive got now but I see that Ive got alot of improvements that I can make

ya they are fairly impressive especialy since they were pretty much just tossed into a pair of cheap prefabs that are a hair small with not even some polly fill to make up for that. a big reason to build a new box is the comfort facter Ive gotta have the seat up a bit farther than usual and the new box the seats should go all the way back no problem
