Good 4x6 is an oxymoron, what are your goals?

I believe they make Plate speakers that combine a 4"-5" mid and a tweeter. This would be much better than a 4x6.

My goals are to have some type of a speaker up front. I have the spot that a 4x6 could fit fiberglass right now just have to body filler to make it a little smother then cut a hole. I was thinking a peerless 4 inch woofer but madisound is out of the ones I want might just have to wait it out or see if anyone comes up with any thing else.

I vote to move up to at least a 4" passive component set, or grab a nice 4" mid and 1" tweet and go active.

The Legatia L4 would probably be a better solution than any plate even though it has no tweet. I do like Denim's idea though of getting a tweet and a 4" separate and making it work.

what about doing a 3-way? putting a 6-8" in the door or kick with the 4" and tweet in the dash? Otherwise I'd do a 4" component set and mount the tweeter wherever it sounds best.

I only have like 1 inch of mounting depth in the doors and i dont feel like making custom kicks so i think im going to put a 4 in the dash or if anyone else has a cool idea.
