So I've noticed my system makes makes a sound like bacon sizzlin' on a pan when I go from 0 to 1 on the volume knob. It's not noticable at normal listening volumes, but I'm sure it's still present in the signal. I was wondering if this should concern me.

I would say that your RCA's are picking up electrical interference from a nearby power wire or other power source if the sound is fairly constant. That's the simplest explanation, but it could be a number of things in the signal path or maybe in the deck itself.

To add to what was said, check all connections. Make sure nothing got severed or cut.

Sounds about right. I love the description of the sound.

:D

I would say it's the RCA's. Try a new one or just run what you have down your vehicle not touching anything and see if that fixes it.

More likely though, did you check if there was bacon on your amp? Forgot to grab it form the last trip to the market?

When you crank the volume like that, it could be overheating and causing said bacon to sizzle. You can really tell if this may be the problem by becomming really hungry for breakfast foods, and a wonderfull smell in your vehicle.

I recomend to have some eggs and toast ready. =)

I had the same hiss comming from my last set and just moving the RCS .5 inch away from one of the wires it was next to solved it.

Good luck
