yes many people are effected by proximity to events, but most are in the range of at least 2 assocations

Had to vote for Wayne.

Yes, it's a pita and full of politics. BUT, I find it more challenging to conform with all the rediculous standards and dBDrag is where I got started a few years back.

And, politics is a part of life. <sigh>

if u had a, none of the above, choice i would have voted

ive mainly had experience with usac due to the lack of other shows down here in LA and i got tired of all the politics and the female doging and moaning, and all the rule changes every year so 2 years ago i quit and dont really care to compete anymore

Most everything up here is bullshit ... no one bothers to inspect the systems, judging is weak.

When I compete this year, it'll be dBDrag and IASCA for me. IASCA SQ for sure.

Are you competing with the truck or the car? out of curiousity...

-and-

I sympathize about the events with you. There was not One certified dBDrag event in this State last year... Been making me think twice about going forward with my second car. :faintthud:

Probably enter both for SQ.

There was one competition 20 minutes away last year, two 4 hours away, and one 14 hours away ... so I doubt I'll even buy a membership this year.

usaci..it's the closest, usually just a couple show a year, though i've already missed the first one. dbdrag is my second simply because of what nick said, even with all the politics, it's a bit more of a challange to conform..though that's getting easier and it's getting harder to compete without major, major funds...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

MECA is teh suck and that is the only local...and they dont even od shows here...the clsoest is like an hour away. they just have 2 shops with MECA certified SPL stations and Mics who also sell membership or some BS...

and with MECA i dont even know what Mics they use but a friend hit 157.1 with 4 JL w1v2 12's and 500w legal in the middle of the dash...and these are 2004 MECA certified mics

But they allow open doors, windows, mics on the floor...no wonder their SPL #'s are way higher than dbDrag... or IASCA

ive onl been to dBdrag competitions in daytona and one IASCA in live oak...for SPL dBdrag for sure...for either SPL or SQ IASCA for sure...

I'd like to see more shows in the Dallas area. 1 SLAP and some smaller USACi and USAC outlaw shows.

Some of the shows, people know who'll win by who's there, so they don't even compete. I'm not a member of any organization, I just like to see the results of my system changes.

I like dB Drag Racing competition because there is no other judge but comp & TL to tell who is loudest!

For SQ we have in Europe EMMA and IASCA - but in my country judges judge the car in many cases with eyes and not with ears - unfortunately

Only shows around here are db drag and usaci. I like db drag because of bass race and the shows just seem more fun. The only thing I don't like is that you do need some money to really be competitive because it is based on subs and how many amps not power so someone with 4000watts & 2 12's might go up agianst someone with 2 12's and 1200watts. But I do like usaci because it based on power @ 4ohm rating and amount of amps.

Usaci quit comming anywhere near Dallas Tx so all i have to choose from is SLAP and it was sooooooooooooooo Rigged to make the Tweeter installs stand out ! they were winning prizes for cars that had amps sitting on the ground and never entered a lane !?!?!?!?!?!??? oh well i wish Usaci would come to Dallas or Iasca as i would have a fair chance there :nopity:

I vote for meca. Meca offers spl and sq. most of the people that i have met are really cool and will offer advice to improve your setup. i have heard a few cars from iasca that do well, and i can honestly say that if they came to meca they would not do as well. I think that i would do well in iasca, but i don't want to travel 5-10 hours for a show.

But the Zapco amps are teh sexay :)

Blacksburg show? d00d...I like to hear that.

Even if there are more shows in WV, it's not that far of a drive...even to Beckley.
