IA DP 21 vs pair of 18"

So I'm going to start building a loud setup soon, as my Q is fine for daily and sounds great, I want to build something to get really loud.

I just want to move some serious air, what would I be happier with?

Incriminator DP 21" in about 9-10 cubes, tuning (30-33hz?)

Two 18"s, (AA Havoc, eD 19Ov.2, Fi Q/BTL, Mach5 IXL), in about 10 cubes, same tuning.

i tried this topic once upon a time...

the SQ guys like 8" / 10" subs with only front stage setups.............

NOTHING over 130db !!!

my 6x9s will do 126db with the sub off

I think two 18's would get louder, assuming you build everything right. BUT a 21" sub is cool. And will still get louuuuuud.

Haha yeah thats the thing, having a 21" would be ridiculous, but two 18"s would be louder, I'm just considering the 21" because it's more exclusive and will give good output for a single sub.

I would have a Fisher customs box built for whichever setup I decide on.

if its 10 cubes before displacement you would probably be better trying 2 15's than 2 18's my 18q is in a box 9.xx cu after displacement its loud low and sounds great. never bottoms out unless you where to run tones well below tuning and with lots of power. the bl would be better for you than the btl unless you plan on doing some serious electrical upgrades. personally 2 15 bl's or the dp 21. depends on power you want/can run and budget. dp 21 plus a saz1500d or 2 bl 15's and a saz 3000d plus batts and upgraded alt.

I have more than 10 cubes, I was just using that as a ballpark.

I was also thinking about the electrical, it would be easier for me to back a 21" with electrical than something that would need more power. Thanks for your advice.

I never said anything about getting SQ from a 21" sub, I said thats what my Q is for.

IMO, 2 18s will move more air.

But having a single sub does add wow factor.

Basically a coin toss.
