Box Design for TC-Sounds 12"

I purchased this sub on closeout from Parts Express earlier this year when TC-Sounds was filing for bankruptcy. My daily enclosure is a sealed pair of RL-i8's. I'd like to build a ported box for this single TC-Sounds 12" sub but I'm a complete noob when it comes to enclosure design. My typical listening style is loud SQ; typical artists include Smashing Pumpkins, NiN, and Daft Punk.

Any suggestions? This is just for fun, so feel free to be creative.

Here is one idea from playing with the box calc. on here:

31hz / 28sq" of port (2" port width) / 2.1 cubes single slot port.

Bottom and top pieces: 30 x 14

Left Face: 13.25 x 12.5 x 13.5 x 12.5

Right Face: 12.5 x 12.5 x 12.5 x 12.5

Back: 30 x 12.5

Front: 27.25 x 12.5

Port wall 1: 10.5 x 12.5 x 10.5 x 12.5

Port wall 2: 13 x 12.5

Now this is a little on the larger side and lower tuned then most would do, but this is kind of the specs I prefer. If you want I can post up a smaller box with a little higher tuning.

If the 100.2 is the power, I think it should work well. But if you feel it is too much on the large side for your listening tastes, you can always decrease internal air volume much easier then increase.

On second thought, I'm having a tough time working a double baffle into these calculations. The rubber gasket is almost 12.75, which easily exceeds these dimensions. I've tried reworking the design but inevitably hit space constraints or the port length is unwieldy. A little more information...

I'd like the height of the box to compensate for the cargo cover (16" off the floor) and mounting the SAZ-1500D on the box somewhere. Even without taking the amp into account, the height of the box + amp will exceed 16". I thought about mounting the sub on top with a wide slot port facing the rear (with the amp mounted above the port), but the numbers just don't work out. I'm still playing with the numbers and sketchup, any other ideas are welcome.

Here's a new design, basically taking your design and stretching it to fit the gasket. It fires upwards now, which was really the only way to use the gasket and keep the cargo cover in place. I'll still need to slide back the cover when it's in use.

Looks good, if you wanted to, you can just move the sub to top mount and make the top double layer and not have issues with gasket size or infringe on the cargo cover.
