Which size q would sound better for rock/metal fast double bass music? Would the 10" hit the higher frequencies better?

That is an old wives tale. If you have space for a 12,

And btw, subs should NEVER play high frequencies anyways. Anything above 50hz or so are not sub frequencies but midbass.
