How Close ?

How close can i put the back of my sealed enclosure to the back of my speaker pole piece (12' Fi Q) ?

Does it matter if it has the BP option are not.

doesn't have to be too far. .5"

Make sure with it being that close to the wall, that if you accelerate hard or stop hard you don't want your box to slide and your woofer to come flush with the wall. Say bye bye to your woofer god forbid that happens...

He means inside the box... like how far does the bottom of the sub have to be from the wall inside of the box.

I'd say 1 inch or so... Just enough to get ventilation out of the pole vent...

fi's subs dont have a pole vent at the bottom of the motor.

both the Q and the SSD have a pole vent (I own a 15" Q), when I tried out a sealed box with mine it was just under 3 inches from the back panel, and sounded terrific! I would say at least 1.5" It makes a difference on the low notes when the woofer is moving a lot of air...

I thought I emailed you back about this?

3/4" or so is fine, if it has BP Power you can sit the back plate on the back of the box for all that matters..the pole vent is blocked off.

Is the aluminum compression plug that helps channel air around the coil and the top plate the thing that cuts the air off from the pole vent?
