4000 watts what subs do you recommend?

Recommended Posts

Ok I have a IA 40.1 and need two 15 inch subs that will handle 2k rms each daily? I play a lot of screwed & chopped mixtapes so keep that In mind as low frequency extension is key in this install.. thanks

2 15 BTL's would work.

maybe even 2 15 BL's.

check out ficaraudio.com if you don't know.

Also, the IA DP's are worth looking into since you already have IA.

Even the Sundown Nightshades would work.

I had the Q's, so I'm a little familiar with FI, but they just didn't have the power handling that I was looking for. If I could find something that played the low hz just as well with twice the power handling, I would be fine.

Out of the woofers you listed, I thought they were only for spl applications?

No sir.

None of the woofers I listed are fully spl subs.

I've heard all those woofers in person and they all get low. All that depends on the install/car.

BTW, what was wrong with your Q?

coils burned up...and on one of the drivers, the cone has completely separated from the coil and spider.

Ok, you say they get low? so would I have to build another enclosure for a pair of nightshades or dps' since my enclosure is tuned to 27hz?

new speaker... new enclosure. Always the name of the game.

Unless it's IB I suppose.

The installation of a driver is 90% of how good it will work in your system.

I'm absolutely amazed at the number of people that do, though.

Then again, considering how many people have things set up, maybe not.

How did you burn up the coil?

I've owned a Q, and it took mine 5+ minutes and 1500rms to finally burn the coil, which I did on purpose.
