Getting every last tenth of a DB

Recommended Posts

Ok I was just wondering I have always heard of ways people have tried to make there cars louder by doing simple things not really involving more power or better subs. one I can think of off hand is to bolt your box down to your car because if the box vibrates it makes you lose bass. I know I have heard of more just cant think of them. If anyone has any of them they would like to list and if there is actually any support to back them up let me know just thinking of little things to do or add to my car for no good reason.

i've never done it personally but some people will seal their subs with duct tape just to make sure no last air leaks happen a lot

Removing seats/mats you don't use? I would think that the fabric or leather would soak up some of the sound...

Opening the glove box, depending on your vehicle.

If you have a box in the trunk facing backwards like I do, cut a piece of mdf to fit so the sound is bouncing off it instead of nooks and crannies, also fill the side trunk vents with foam.

I know this is obvious, But I jumped nearly 3 db's by getting a better cleaner ground.
