can a one wire self exciting alt be wired to the same batt as the stock alt ?

or can two stock alts run to the same batt ?

or would they have to be two seperate power systems ?

You can run multiple alternators to the same batt with out any issues. If you are gonna be running dual alts, i would do the Big 3 all in 1/0, since it seems like you are gonna be pulling a lot of juice

thanks for the reply

does it matter if the second alt is self exciting or stock?

this will be a two batt setup, but all on one circuit

now all i have to do is find dual alt brackets for 2000 xlt explorer

or somewhere to cram one

isn't that dangerous?

No battery likes or can accept LARGE amounts of charging current...

If you only have one battery..., if the battery were to ever discharge a fair amount because you are at idle or the car off, when the alts go to send charge current, depending on how long that is, you could damage the battery.
