BL 15" HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok the title makes it look a little dramatic sorry...but I do need some help/advice here. First off this is my first post and im not that experienced when it comes to car audio, so please no dogging just try and help please. So heres my problem... I got a BL 15 the other day will all the options besides extreme lead and universal. I got a custom box made thats 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 35hz. For some reason I just cant get it to sound that good...it sounds like theres something loose or something, unless thats the way its supposed to sound... like I said, not too much experience with this stuff. Anyways, today I took it out of the enclosure and listened to it just free air, and again it sounds like something is loose and not that clean. Everytime I want to jack up the volume, it just sounds real dirty like it wants to blow or something. Now for my signal chain...I have a sony xplod h.u. and a Hifonics 2006d amp. Now i know the h.u. and the amp arent the greatest, but could this be effecting the sub that much?? I dont have my gains set to max...all boosts and eq are off. Another thing is my wiring/electrical...everything is stock nothing fancy, no big 3 or anything plus my power wire is 4awg...which I know is not great either. Im just curious if those few items are whats causing my sub to not sound that great or what... again any advice would be helpful.

Ok while doing more research, I realized I wired my sub wrong!! Embarrassing... So heres a crappy drawing of what im talking about...please let me know if this is correct. I had everything wired up to just one voice coil i guess??? The old way on top, new way on bottom. I hope I didnt mess up my sub by having it wired the wrong way for a few days??? So this seemed to help, but im sure wiring, electrical and amp will effect it too. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb288/a...k/ampwiring.jpg
