Starting battery

Recommended Posts

would a d1200 or d5100 work as a starting battery? im thinking of going with one or the other but wanna make sure they'll work. also would it be worth the price difference to go with 5100 over the 1200? im only gonna run 1200wrms. also what the differnce between the d5100 and d5100r? thanks Dustin.

Between these two, I would go with the D5100. It has more capacity and is made to be used as a starting battery. When using the 1200 size for starting you should look into the S1200 as it already comes with the auto terminals and the protective metal case to prevent it from swelling from high engine temps. The D5100's and up are constructed with extra thick plastic to reduce the risk of swelling.
