SAX-100.4 SQ?

Just how good is the SQ of the SAX-100.4? It's good enough for the average Joe but is it good enough to drive a set of SEAS Lotus Reference 6.5" comps? I'll be running a Zapco DSP6-SL for my processor and the comps will be run active. I think 100W per driver is enough power, but am I going to be satisfied with the SQ of the amp?

He posted that last year, was not a Sundown dealer (he was and is an Audison dealer) - he bought the 100.4 from me and has asked me fairly recently about information on becoming a dealer. So, I think that speaks pretty highly when a dealer of a high-end name like Audison is interested in them

I sincerely hope your amps are as good as everyone says. I'm going to put your Sundown amps to the test next month when they will be powering a set of SEAS Lotus Reference comps. Like I said, all processing will be done by the Zapco DSP6-SL which includes time alignment, x-over, EQ, and phase adjustments so all the Sundown's have to do is supply the power. I'll be sure to post some impressions once I have it all installed.

If they sound bad it will all be in how you setup your DSP-6SL. In general they will do more than you ask.

didnt wanna start a new thread just a small question here

i have a 100.4

and was just wondering if any of the pairs of channels put out more power compared to the others?

eg. channels 1&2>3&4

cuz i soon will be running my tweeters and mids off the 100.4

and didnt know if i could squeeze a lil more out of either of the channels for the mids

Could go with two 100.2's. It's been said the channels put out more than the 100.4.

i may just bridge the 100.4, and keep my kickerzx200.2 for the tweets, and have the 1500 on the subs

i dunno, i just want more response lol but i may just have to stay satisfied with what i got, which isnt bad at all

Do you think one SAZ-1500D and one SAX-100.4 mounted in this location (behind the driver's seat) would be okay or do you think I'll need a fan? Also, would it make a difference which amp to mount on top of the other as far as heat goes?

It really depends on how hard you are on the amps if they will need a fan. If you just listen to music at typical levels I'd say no, if you like to play it very loud for extended periods I would install a fan.

I listen to my music pretty loud almost all the time. I guess I will leave the fan that I already have in there. I just hate that thing because it's right behind my seat and it's loud.

ya i would do the fan like they recommend the 100.4 can get pretty hot if u pound on it

You could also try putting a resistor in line with the fan to slow it down a bit.

from the picture what me and my brother did in his 350z is developed a floating amp rack in your same location attaching a stiff 1/4" steel link to a mounting bracket that is on the top of the roof of the mounting location for the stock sub. then used flexible steel links that you use for fensing and what not that rolls up to connect to the front of that attachment with the bolt. result a nice suface to mount on.

The best fan buy i ever made was for 2 scythe 120mm fans from new egg. they push i believe close to 69 cu ft per minute of air and operate with zeroooooooooooooooooo noise. yup i said it. i know that mounting location is close to your head and well running off remote turn on wire from a relay these two fans were more than enough for 3 pdx amps crammed into that cavity in his 350z touring edition.

Ill find u a direct link and send it in here. but they arnt to expensive and you just hook up the positive and ground and ignore speed control. they are built excellently and by far the quietest and one of the best options over those squirrel cage fans to bring in massive amounts of air.
