Im getting an Fi Q 15' in my '96 ex-cab s10. Do I need a battery exclusively for my system or just a nicer 1 under the hood? Under the hood I have a cheap Duralast.

Try the Big 3 and then decide if you need another battery.. what amp are you using? i have 2/3 big 3 done with an saz-1500d and i have little to no dimming (with lights and A/C on, and stereo at pretty loud levels) on a stock battery and alternator (117 amps)

I thought i was going to have to buy a hifonics bxi1606, but i lucked out and found some jacob from sundown was selling. If i were you, i'd save up until i could buy the sundown, and pass on hifonics

Edit: There's actually two left from the same sale i bought mine.. they were used by team sundown audio; when i got mine i could barely tell it was used. Click here to see the topic. $360.. not bad at all.

What amp will you be running? How many amps does your alternator put out.

Im probably gonna be running a Hifonic BXI Brutus 1600d, and I have no Idea how much my alt is putting out. It is a stock so It should be putting out atleast 300 amps.

 ummm what kind of car do you drive? because I truley doubt it puts out 300 amps stock... Shouldn't be higher than like 130 unless you drive some huge semi with a million features

If you decide to add a battery or 2, make sure your batteries for the system AND for the vehicle are the same. If not, it creates in imbalance and will lead to eventual alternator failure.

Hey, can you PLEASE force this statement into everyone's head who thinks otherwise.

I got tired of tryin to explain the way extra batts work in a vehicle and what all u need for a long term durable setup...

Maybe you can be the next teacher for this topic for a while, hehe
