mystery sub.....?

Recommended Posts

Hey, my friend was given a sub that nobody has been able to identify. It's a 15" w/ a standard 4 spoke aluminum basket, triple stacked mags and i believe d2 voice coil config. on the front it is very standard looking with a normal convex dustcap that has a bunch of weird graphics in white and the logo of a company that i know that i have seen before. It looks like a diamond shpe thats half black and half white, with a smaller diamond inside of it that is the same but the color is opposite on each side. gonna try and get some pics up tomorrow. this thing is beefy and we need to come up with a better box for it

Thanks guys! you were all correct, it WAS a MkI brahma. I was surprised by how good it sounded when i first heard it because it looked more like an SPL oriented sub to me. Anyone have a rough idea what the specs are on this driver? he has it in about 2.0 cubes sealed now w/ 500 watts. the problem is his amp (alpine) make 1k rms at 2 ohms and shuts down on a 1 ohm load. Is it a good enough sub where it is worth him upgrading the amp instead of just buying a new sub? i was thinking maybe steering him towards an SAE-!000.

Great sub. Def worth the amp upgrade to keep it.

Nice, i actually think that we are gonna run it in my friends durango in an SQ setup. Sealed 2.5 cubes gross w/ an SAE1000d to drive it :)

Gonna design a box tonight. My friend has a half 4x8 sheet of leftover 1" plexi that we may use for a baffle
