Hello, i have 2 SSA ICON 12's powered by two Phoenix gold ryvals 1000watts each. each sub with their own amp. so i keep blowing the fuse and my fuse holder is now melted. so it got me thinking about taking out the inline fuse completely. good or bad?

u take out the inline fuse and your battery will be the next thing to go and it wont be unnoticed either when it happens!

You either have too small of a fuse, you're arcing due to a loose connection in the fuse holder, your power wire is tapping ground somewhere, u are clipping so much it's pulling insane amounts of current, your voltage is dropping so low the current is rising drastically.

Look over all that until you find out why it keeps popping.

Oh, and replace the fuse holder too since it's melted.

I put dielectric grease on the fuse under hood, I've had problems with them getting moisture/etc in them and then they get hot, limit current, blow, etc. It may depend on what style you have and closer you get to max of fuse more likely problems will happen. But certainly do above post and don't run without a fuse on a big wire. It can burn your car down or blow stuff up.
