12 RL-i and Overstock 8s

Recommended Posts

i just got done talking with Mike and he let me in on a few things that he has lying around. limited quanities for sure, so get them while you can.

12" RL-i drivers. dual 4 versions, $180 plus shipping. he has 3 or 4 left

Overstock 8" drivers. yes, 8" drivers. similiar to the vaunted RL-i 8, here's the specs,

Qts - 0.405

Qes - 0.442

Qms - 4.778

Fs - 34.289 Hz

Re - 5.25 Ohm

Ls - 12.16mH

Lp - 4.053 mH

Rp - 25.46 Ohm

Vas - 5.031 L

Mms - 214.1 g

Cms - 100.6 m/N

Bl - 23.39 T*m

Sensitivity - 78.44 dB

~17mm Xmax

The 8's are built on the TC2+ motor, and the only appreciable differences between the RL-i8 and the Overstock 8 are the use of a paper/kevlar composite cone (no logo), and the lack of a copper shorting ring. Asking $165 + shipping on these.

he has about 70 of these available, and i've requested pics.

if anyone is interested, shoot mike an email, [email protected] and let him know you saw this thread. you'll be glad ya did!!

also, there is a timetable for the return of the rl-i8 and rl-p18. it's not set in stone, so i'll only mention that they are coming back and, fingers crossed, soon! hopefully we can get mike to drop in (he's been pretty damn busy) and clarify a few things.

those listed above ARE NOT rl-i8s. similiar yes, but not the same.

the real Rl-i8 is coming back, but when? again, there is an approximate timetable, but nothing set in stone.

These 8" drivers are single 6 ohm. This order was actually built for someone else, but the magnet height was 0.5" too tall for that customer's application. Therefore, I decided to pick 'em up at a discount since it seems people have been quite eager to get their hands on high powered 8's. These are built upon the same TC2+ motor as the RL-i, however utilize a different cone, lack the copper shorting ring, and do not carry spring-action terminals, instead they feature the old-school flat metal binding posts with the small hole in the middle. While they are not quite up to par with the RL-i series 8" driver, they are certainly no slouch. I will have pic's posted here shortly.

$165 + shipping, or $150 + shipping when ordering two or more.
