Wiring Question

Recommended Posts

I will be running a sundown 1500 and a 2 channel (not sure which one yet) off a stock alternator and a powermaster d1200. I already have 4 gauge ran from a previous instal with 80a inline fuse.

1) Can I just leave the existing 4 gauge and use that for the 2 channel and just run an additional fused 1/0 for the Sundown or is there an easier way to go about this?

2)Is it ok to run two fused power wires off the same battery?

3) If I have to get a distribution block, which one should I get? I heard Knukonceptz' are hard to work with. I already have a kicker 1/0 kit on the way but I don't think the distribution block in the kit will fit my needs.

Thanks guys

No problem running multiple fused power wires off a single battery. That's probably the route I'd go in your case.

It does seem like it would be the easiest way to go. I'm not sure if I can fit both wires through my firewall yet but I'm sure it won't be a problem. Would a powermaster d1200 be enough battery for the 1500 run at 2 ohms and a 125x2 2 channel?

Well considering that I was running the same sub amp at 1 ohm in addition to an older PG amp about 100x2 on a stock battery and alt, I don't think that you'll have a problem

ok thanks brynm.....do I just run it from the headunit to the mono and then just run one from the 2 channel and have it connect to the remote wire inside the mono?

Yup, that'll work fine for two amps.
