Boom like so?

Gonna do some more testing on it next week now that the dust cap glue has set fully (the black glue takes 24 hours).

Conclusions so far...

1) This glue is very strong.

2) It is not suitable for adhering to spiders at the triple joint.

Why? Well, due to it's thickness it doesn't soak into the spider material well and pulls away from the spider at the triple joint. So, for this application regular CA glue or a thinner epoxy would be best.

I played the 18" driver free air with a 1500D pushed well into clipping - did not break the driver but it began to make funny sounds as the glue at the triple joint was not connected to the spiders any longer. As a testament to the strength of the glue the driver has stayed together simply by the glue adhering to the former and not letting the assembly slide off.

So... it looks like this glue may be best suited for the top triple joint @ the cone / former assembly and for holding on the stiffening disc.

Back to the drawing board for a glue to replace CA for the triple joint :)

You can buy it from glue suppliers :)

Alternatively Nick @ IA will probably sell you some.

How about the green stuff for spider to basket and surround to basket? :D

Seems to hold really well spider to basket - but I used a different, more flexible, glue for the surround to basket.

I'll be doing more testing with it... I have six more tubes to play with.

I found epoxy to work really well for gluing a drop in recone VS CA glue.

Now for the rest, We'll hafta see how Jakes test do.

I figured you would I know when I went to pull them off when I reconed them I got one screw out then the next one I came to was stripped so that plan ended quickly

I took the dust cap off the 18 then plugged it into the wall socket... after about 15 minutes of testing wide open on a 1500D, so it was already pretty hot. I had the cap off to examine the triple joint... and, as a note, removing the cap diminishes thermal handling quite a bit as the cap forces air over the back of the coil and in and out of the pole.

Uploading video... I'll link em tonight.
