ok so i looked around and found some speakers i like. they are Hi Vi D6.8 and SEAS 29TAFW. i plan on running 4 of the hi vi and 2 seas' up front. what type of crossover would i need to make this compatible?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "requirements." A good crossover really depends on the person. The right crossover point for the drivers in question is pretty universal, but beyond that it's kind open. Some people like low slopes, some like steep slopes, some like the sound of certain passive components, some would rather have passive than active or vice versa, etc.

Audiocontrol makes some good active crossovers, maybe look into those if you don't have enough processing power on your head unit or amp.

what i would do is scrap the cross overs and run all the comps on a amp then run all the tweets off another amp thats of coaers assuming u have a xover to make sure u dont get bass to the tweets

i am not planning on running 4 tweeters. only 2. i am planing on running a driver in eeach door and tweetters up front. what i was asking was about compatibility. for example to run subs at their full potential u wanna have the right impedence. same for the speakers. are crossovers adjustable or do they all work no matter what type of driver or tweeter u have?

its just that i see so many and i have no idea how any of them work.

and u can buy headunits with crossovers built in correct? would this be easier? i dont have any limitations on pricing i just wanna make the easiest setup and one that will look thew cleanest. dont wanna be running extra wires if i can buy a headunit or a crossover that will prevent me from having to run all my lines to a amp.

Impedance doesn't matter at all, I have a dual 4 ohm sub, 4 ohm mids, 8 ohm tweets & 8 ohm midbass, and it doesn't make a lick of difference if I used other impedances of the same driver.

A crossover worth using is adjustable. The flexibility or ease of use of a driver will determine how much resolution you need in a crossover.

Yes, you can buy headunits with crossovers. Pioneer 880PRS, Alpine Bass Engine Pro HUs, as well as the Pioneer P9 combo & Alpine H701 processor. Ural makes one too.

Easiest & cleanest? No matter what, active means you need to run a single channel to a single driver. No way around that. If you want easy, stick with a passive boxed component set. Active is much more flexible & opens up driver choices, but it isn't easy.
