Q10 Required Power

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Strongly considering purchasing a Q10, but not sure I have the amplifier power.

I've got a zapco 500 watt amp, is it going to be enough to run the Q10 in a ported enclosure? I'm not looking to be super loud, just want good SQ on the lower end.

One last question - what is the current wait time on one of these?

Thanks!

I believe the Q will still get reasonably loud in a ported box on the larger of the recommended box sizes with 500w.

I've run bigger, less efficient subs on less power and been pleased. More than loud enough to shake the car and sounded beautiful. Referring to an older XXX 12.

500 is plenty. :)

I don't know, I have a Q10 on an sae-1000d at 2ohms, so probably about 600rms. I'v run it both sealed and ported and I really think it would be better on more power. It is musical as all getout but just lacks the loudness I was looking for in the lows. This is why I plan to add another 10 soon. :)

My guess is your issue is box related, you shouldn't draw conclusions until you try to fix things.

and the fast that its a 10" doesn't help at all, they aren't made to get really low and loud. tight and precise is what they are made for

Umm I don't know about that^

But ///M5, you could be very right, but I acctually think my biggest problem is the fact that its in an ext cab truck, the lows are much better with both doors open haha.
