Advice on elctrical system

I am looking at getting a Sundown 3000D and a 100.4, I have a stock 110 amp alternator but I think the car uses most of it because it has a lot of electronic crap. So would I be fine maybe getting like two deep cycle batteries one for starter and one for system and running a isolator, or am I gonna have to get a HO alternator? The only way I can get an alternator is to get it custom made and I'm sure that won't be cheap. I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre with a 3.8, if anyone can find an alternator for that car at the size I need then I would be grateful but I have searched everywhere and can not find one. But back to the batteries what would be a good brand to go with for starter and system battery?

powermaster alt and battery (probably 2 batts) and you should be fine.

kinetiks are also good batteries to use. iraggi alts...although they may be very good alts, have very exhausting customer service. i'd check into ohio gen alts. VERY good customer service from my experience. i called them, told them what i had/was looking for. we hung up, they called me back to get a lil more info, hung up and called back and told me what i'd need and said they checked and had my model in stock. all within like...a half hour. have had the alt for...i wanna say about a year? and no problems since i've gotten it :)

Ok I was looking at the Kinetik batteries and what would be a good CCA to go with? I know I don't need a big one for my starting battery but my other one probably needs to be big.

not to jack the thread but how much would having both batteries under the hood affect things? just curious, i know it's ideal to have it as close as possible to the amps

It depends on how much power you are trying to draw from your amp at that distance. Even with 0 Aug there will be an impedance change. If you try to draw too much power and you batteries are too small then adding that distance is just going to hurt things more causing lights dimming, your alternator working like mad, and in the end just having to do more work on your electrical system.

But wouldn't it not matter since the positive from the alternator has to get to a battery in the back also, so there would be voltage drop across that wire just the same as if both batteries were in front and the wire was running to the amplifier, would it not? They're usually just put in back because of space.

Yes there is a voltage drop on how fast the battery charges but not on the charge going from the battery directly to the amp. I would rather have my battery charge a little slower than not have it bump as hard when I want it too, but thats just me.

hmmm.... cause i have a small stinger dry cell (sp800) and a compartment under my hood that fits it and i am trying not to add much weight to the trunk. If i had that under the hood and all 0awg running to the rear i wonder how much that would affect things? I will be running either an SAZ1500d @ 1 ohm or SAZ3000d at 2 ohms, and 100x4 on the front stage

Ok I was looking at Powermaster batteries and I want to get a D3100 for the trunk. If I have a 200 amp alternator and I'm running 3400 watts of power what do I need to get for a starter battery? Powermast has a lot of batteries I just don't know what size I would need.

Are you a 3.8 liter? If you are i believe you have a group 79 battery, kinda weird size but these are the dimensions you have to work with:

Weight: 48 pounds

Length: 12.06 inches

Width: 7.06 inches

Height: 7.38 inches

Cranking Amps: 1000

Cold Cranking Amps: 840

Voltage: 12

Termination: S

The Powermaster 2700 is closest in size but about an inch higher. The others are all smaller then stock with the exception of the 3100 which is HUGE. The only problem that i could foresee would be it being too tall. check the battery box and see if there is additional clearance for height, and if not, if it will fit on it's side not sure but the specs on the interstate starting battery look pretty impressive. you might wanna just stick with one of those and save a bundle $$$.

Thats kinda what I wanted to do I just didn't know if mixing up batteries like that would cause any problems. Also my battery is under my back seat and it is a 3.8 so I could fit another inch taller if I needed the extra power.

Ummmm, no. Impedance is an AC phenomena.
If you try to draw too much power and you batteries are too small then adding that distance is just going to hurt things more causing lights dimming, your alternator working like mad, and in the end just having to do more work on your electrical system.
If the wire is the right size and the ground is actually sufficient as well, there will be no difference based on where the battery is. The voltage drop over the run of wire should be negligible at full draw (which you'll never see on music anyway) and if it isn't you need better wiring.
