Front Speaker help

Recommended Posts

Ok so im pretty much getting brand new everything

What I have now...

HU: Alpine CDA- 9831

Current Amp: Rockford Fosgate Punch 500S

And I got a rf 12" sub in the back.

Speakers: factory

Car: 1997 Honda Accord SE

So far I'm planning on.... (havn't bought any of these yet)

Im pretty set on the sub and amp, not so sure about the speakers.

Subwoofer: 15" SSD w/ copper wire (i want it sealed, but coudlnt find the specs...) $215 ( I might go with the 12")

Amp: AudioQue 1200D $240

Front Speakers: im looking at these

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...mp;idproduct=95 $70

They looked like a good deal, but I just want some feedback because I'm pretty new at this. If you guys disagree and happen to suggest something else, I'd say my budget is somewhere around $150 for the speakers. Im looking at coaxial speakers because I dont really wanna deal w/ the component crap/ I dont know how lol.

I had some help from a friend because ,honestly, I was going to go with these lol http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...&i=113W3011 because of the price/ good ratings, but I'm glad he mentioned fi. I did some research on my own too haha.

Now me being 18, I'm all about bang for buck so the cheaper the better. This is just going to be for daily driving and SQ.

bang for the buck, I would look at Hertz Deici's and Morel Tempo components.

wow that was pretty fast haha. Are components really hard to install? I have no experience hands on, but i can pretty much figure anything out. Ill check them out now. What do you think of the cadence?

No personal or listening experience with cadence drivers. I almost heard a set once but the amps were clipping so bad I could hardly justify calling it listening. From what I have heard they are ok, but not great.

Morel and Hertz are great speaker companies. Components are a tad bit harder, the tweeter and mid/woofer are separate and there is a crossover involved, but nothing too complicated.

I'm liking the look of the Morel Tempo 2 ways... Any idea of a price range off the top?

Suggested retail prices range from $199.95 to $299.95

answered my own question... looks good, but i may not be able to do it right away...

Hertz looks pretty good too, but the price is in Euros lol.

The tempos are probably around 200-220 iirc and the hertz are like 230-250 iirc...

Don't quote me on that I know I got my morel pulse (older version of the tempos) for about 160 cash, but I know some people.

ok thanks, those prices are about right. I'm gonna keep on looking at them.

MOREL TEMPO 5 110watt rms RRP $224 <<< cheapest i can find

I'm still open for more thoughts. $200 is a little much at the moment... I'd only pay that if it was REALLY worth it. I wouldn't go over... Not now at least.

If someone can give me feedback on the cadence that'd be great.

sry for the double post but if i edited, i dont thnk ppl would have noticed in time and i wanna get this figured out by tomorrow

http://www.zapco.com/prod/Speakers/i-Force/i-502_Frame.htm $125

set of coaxials i found... compared to

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...mp;idproduct=95 $70

Im pretty sure most are gonna go with the first, but I just wanna make sure before i start throwing out money...

Based on the price and specs, wuts the better deal?

If SQ is anywhere near a priority, I'd go with $150 worth of drivers bi-amped actively over $150 of passives any time.

SQ is definitely a priority, and they will be amped, if not immediately in the near future...

So im guessing ur going w/ the first? haha

I'm going with neither. Instead of the SSD and AQ amp, put that money into front speakers and you'll get much more of a return on investment for SQ :)

I trust your judgement, but thts a HUGE change haha. I was counting on the sub.

How much better can speakers really sound? Funny though, I just got another hundred bucks from my uncle like 15 min ago lol (late bday). I was gonna save it, but ill add it to the speakers if you truly believe its worth the money...

So now my budget is 250 haha. Dont wanna throw 500 bucks into speakers right now, I'll step it up when i get outta college haha

So what if I keep the sub, amp, and pick up a pair of tempos around the 250 price range?
