Too much power???

Recommended Posts

Hey I'm trying to build a system for my 2000 nissan pathfinder...and unfortunately it only has a 90 amp alt, and I don't want to buy a H.O. alt, so how much power can I safely run?

I was planning on getting an Arc Audio 1500v1 XXK, which I didn't realize is a class A/B monoblock amp that puts out 1000 watts RMS...so i'm guessing it's not as efficient as a class D of the same power...

soo i could do the big 3 upgrade...but is a 1000 watt class A/B monoblock not a good idea for a 90 amp stock alt?

thanks for the help

Depends on your goals and the rest of the system. Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a sub amp.

No.

that amp will produce more heat than power...

find a D class Mono Block

like a SunDown Audio 1000d or 1500d

but i am Bias :neil:

Why not buy it then resell it to get something more efficient?

how much would it go for on the forums? (trying to figure out if its worth the gas to go get it....)

Definitely, you will make some money on that deal.

On the low side, I'd imagine at least $300.
