Which type is the best to use when soldering ring terminals and etc.

Given a choice I prefer 95% tin/5% silver solder, but it's not needed for power terminals.

The most common mix (at least in the US, where lead-free RoHS compliance hasn't happened yet) is 60% tin/40% lead, rosin-core solder.

I use whatever Radioshack sells. It melts quick, spreads evenly, and I like the smell.

haha, i love the smell too. then again I also like chemical smells, and all sorts of deadly things. im a lil ***ed up.
