Which amp would work best with 2 alpine type Rs 12". Either an alpine pdx 600 watt or alpine mrp m1000? and what ohm would you run it at 2 or 4?

I'd actually go with the MRP-M1000 after reading the specs. The PDX has some nice input electronics, but that doesn't really mean beans as far as a sub amp goes. It also produces the same power at 4 ohms and at 2 ohms whereas the MRP creates 1000w @ 2ohms. Which is better suited to 2 Type R's than the PDX is.

Buy the DVC2 ohm Type R's and wire them like this:

How many amps is your alternator and what kind of battery (and age) do you have...and what size wire are you putting to amp?

You will be close, I don't know how efficient the alpine is but should be pretty good. I would try it and see, if the voltage drops at max output then you will have to beef it up. If you are going to hammer it hard I'd upgrade electrical to get the most out of it.
