I wouldn't worry about universal but that's me. I believe the d2 gap is the universal gap anyway, but I've been wrong before.

your right. let me re-phrase that. im not really experienced in wiring audio systems and was'nt sure if i wanted to wire my sub at 2 ohms or 1 ohm so i got the universal option. i believe the universal option is free and lets you easily switch between 1 ohm and 2 ohm wiring. as earthman stated d2 can be reversed to 1 ohm, but like i said im not really experienced with wiring so i did'nt know at the time. i would appreciate it next time if you correct me and not mock me, especially since you have the title as a moderator and this is a forum to help people.

I think you have to send it back in to get it rewired at a different ohm level.

Chill son. No one was mocking you, your post didn't make any sense. So I said something.

Can't help you if no one understands you.

And no, the universal option doesn't let the user switch back and forth at will. It simply means the gap where the voice coil sits is larger to accomodate the D1 and the D2 coil.

If you got the D2 option, it automatically comes with the universal option.

The D1 gap is the tighter gap, and you must add universal to it to allow you to switch to a D2 coil if you want in the future.

you are correct sir.. so again it made no sence to get it 2 ohm "cause you didnt want to worry about wiring"

you choose to fit your applacation

wow i'm glad you guys clarified that for me, i honestly thought there was some magical way to switch from 2 ohms to 1ohm with the universal option. i'm glad i realized this now because i was going to make a huge mistake when buying my amp next week :s. as for the mocking part i guess we're just from different cultures or something because in my area when you say "you don't make sense" to somebody it's usually said in a way to belittle someone's intelligence. i guess i took it the wrong way.

i got dual 2 with universal which i did'nt know was already included lol. but thats ok cause that's what i wanted, i just thought i would be able to switch to 1 ohm with the universal option. the way i had it in my head was i was going to buy 1 bl15 and feed it with a sub that had 1500 rms at 2 ohms and if ever i got bored i would switch my amp over to 1 ohm and get another sub. i got a little reality check on this thread, and im glad i did before i bought my amp. i guess i read to fast and got excited, then forgot to read the part where it said i could switch to 1 ohm with universal by doing a recone.

With a dual 2 ohm sub, your only wiring options are 1 ohm and 4 ohms currently.
