NEW SSA ICON build log

Recommended Posts

Well my previous setup consisted of 2 15" icons powered off a Soundstream pca2000d at 2ohm doing 1500 watts so each sub was getting around 750 watts each. My door speakers were boston acousitc sl60's in the front and infinity kappas in the read powered by a JLe6450 getting 75x4 at 4ohm.

Heres the new! 2 15" icons powered by a kicker zx2500! so each sub is getting about 1250 each. A kicker zx650.4 I am gonna replace the sl60's and go with the PG rsd's take. Gonna take out the infinity kappas and just throw the sl60's in the back for the hell of it. I also will be doing big 3 having a kinetik hc1400 under the hood and a hc2400 in the rear. All kicker wiring as well! Heres the pics of what i got so far. I am still waiting on the kicker amps kicker wiring kit and finding a set of PG rsd's

Just installed the amp and did a couple test tones only bass since I dont have my 4 channel and its LOUD!

Couple questions though. As I was wiring everything up I was not paying close enough attention and accidently put the ground wire into the 12v input on the amp and it made a huge spark and a little smoke came out. After that the amp still worked fine though. But good that have cause any damage internally? Like at all? What could it have done.

Also do I need to fuse the positive wire coming off the battery into the amp. I was pretty sure I didnt have to since its only like a 1 foot distance. Anyways here the pics

Ya i know its just usually i have alot of stuff in my truck like skateboards and tools and chit and my last sub had a whole poked right through it. so I just keep them up for the sake of my subwoofers and i dont want a skateboard hitting up against the speakers

Damn you need rims!

Ya I got about 5 things left until the whole car is complete.

1. Get double din HU

2. Monotone it (get the front and back bumper painted black and the piece i had to get replaced back to black)

3. Rims

4. Alarm

5. darker tint

Then the car will be COMPLETELY finished!

Do yourself a favor and put the alarm at the top of the list. Would suck to have all that chit vanish...

Well bad news one blew today. Mark said that the zx2500 might be a little to much for them on daily driving.
