Remote and bassboost on 1500

From what i've read, bass boost only sends an ugly, distorted signal to the sub. So should bass boost be set to zero, and only use the wired gain remote? Also, when using the gain remote, does it override the settings you have on the actual amp (the Gain knob on the amp)?

Also, bass should be set to zero on the head unit, correct?

think of the remore "gain" as a volume knob. It will not override your amp setting for gain. as for the bass boost keep it to min......just my 2cents

Say the actual gain on the amp is set half way. Does that mean that if i use the remote at 100%, its actually only doing the half-power i set at the amp? sorry for the questions, and thanks for the replies

The knob is a gain knob, and it doesn't let it go any higher than whats set on the amp.

Half gain does not equal half power.

Gain is to match the amp to your pre-out voltage. A high voltage HU can get full output from the amp at zero gain.

The remote only cuts the gain from where it is set at the amp, it can't go any higher.
