Im frickin lost

Recommended Posts

So there's way too many new products coming out and I don't know what I want to try. I want a good clean sounding system, but I'm a bit of a bass head and do like to crank the bass. I have a Q12 sealed in my other car and like the sound and how low it goes, but I want to look at other things. I drive a Magnum and could get two 15's or something big no problem, but other than lots of bass my goal is to stay low profile so I still have cargo room AND i'd like to keep the spare. So I'm thinking either in floor low profile or something that only comes slightly out of the floor. Some of my ideas have been 4 of the sundown 8's, 4 of the sd1v2's, or wait for the new SI BM's and get 2 or 4 of those.

It changes every day, but what I'm leaning towards right now is the sd1v2's which would be sealed. Oh ya, power for any of the setups would be whatever's appropriate for the subs, so near rated.

Any insight or other suggestions to throw into the mix, or should I just buy something more normal and lose the space.

Ok, last thing for now, how many of you with daily drivers ditched the spare for a can of fix-a-flat. I drive about 60 miles round trip to work a day.

Sounds like one 12" ported should suit you nicely. You'll be able to keep quite a bit of room and it'll still shine in output (assuming correct box size).

As for the spare problem...I hung it out back :P

Keep your spare tire, never, i mean never use fix-a-flat, or anything like it. The chemicals that allow it to inflate the tire will eat away at ur rims. I used to work at a tire shop and just hated it when people get a flat and use that stuff. When you pop the bead, it lets go this foul order. You have to take the tire off, suck out the slime, and wash the rim off before you even think about repairing the tire. So in conclusion, Fix-a-Flat is a bad idea, plus what if you have a total blow out on the side of the freeway, how is Fix-a-Flat gonna help you there??

I only would consider ditching my spare if you had a small commute (as my daily commute is 12 miles and I have AAA.) Ironically enough I used to ride around with my spare in the backseat anyways.

Nowadays, I would rather keep the spare in my car as most of my audio comps are 200+ miles away.
