I'm sure there are other differences, however, they're minuscule enough for me to not go and look for them.

Actually a fair number of differences:

24 bit Burr-brown D/A's

Copper Chassis

USB support

Bluetooth

Seems to be a lot for $50, plus the 880 is gone now the 800 is the replacement.

Actually no.

The 880 has 24bit Burr-brown D/A's

The USB support is the same, you have to by the same adapter.

Bluetooth support is the same, you have to by the same adapter.

The only difference Ive seen is the copper chassis and a different faceplate.

My hangover got the best of me...can't believe I put the D/A on the list. I didn't think the 880 had USB support and if I am not too confused even when re-looking now I don't see that the 880 does support USB.

Hehe, :coffee:. The tricky thing is its a pioneer = add on boxes galore and I dont think they are going to update (reprint manuals) every spot of information for outdated headunits (880) and new ones. The usb for the 800 is a add on box that im fairly positive will work with the 880 as well. The manual for the adapter even states the 880 as a head unit group 2 for controllability but no mention of the 800 anywhere?? The only difference between the units that you can seen would be copper chassis and different face plate. I suppose they could have updated some firmware but i think thats unlikely.

Hopefully they fixed the issues with the faceplate going out for a second when you try to push a button

Funny as that it only happened to mine once, although multiple times that once. I took off the faceplate and put it back on and it hasn't re-occured.

I have not had that problem with mine. Ive had it for about 2 years too.

880 is better

 Im confused by this. Have you not read the thread?? They are pretty much the same unit, if anything the 800 might have a slight edge for the copper chassis to eliminate what little noise the regular chassis wont.
