Heck no, i've had these subs for a full week now and i havent taken the plastic off of them yet because of all the cuttin, gluin and sealin i've been doin.

Well, i take that back. I had to take the plastic off of one so i could test fit it in the baffle one day but i immediately wrapped it back up.

I want these things to be nice and new when i am finally ready to mount them.

i'm gonna have a pic for u guys later on today of what it looks like.

The rear chamber has been attached to the baffle now! I am just out there sealing the hell out of it up right now for the next few hrs.

I tried to make a design earlier of how i will me making my new floor in my hatch for my amps and batts but for some reason, it failed so i'll try to explain it-

If i go with this design, this is how it will be-

Layer of floor across ... well the floor.

I mount both of my AQ amps side by side each other long-wise, side to side of car but in the middle of the floor.

To the right of the amps are both my batts off in their little corner.

to the left of the amps is the Sundown 100.4 mounted on a side wall.

Above the 2 AQ amps is another floor which is elevated and will span across the area back there so i can still haul things back there.

there will be a DC Audio impression in the floor as well lit at night.

There will also be 3 fans in line with the AQ amps to ensure they stay cool down there.

The floor will be open on both sides but i wanna make sure anyways.

Pic to come of the build before 8pm EST today.

like i promised-

Here is a pic of the build right now-

I'm getting real close to be being done!

Just picked up some Baltic birch i'm gonna use to build my new floor in the back of the car for the amps, fans and batts.

So far i'm right on schedule so sometime be the end of this week, i might\should have some vids.

Hehe, just playin, i bet i got u goin for a sec there, :)

I got the main flooring done and this wall mounted to the floor so my sundown amp can mount to it.

If i work on it any tomorrow... i will be needing to disconnect all current audio equipment and move it to the new floor... then mount the floor....

So, i'm gettin there.

here is the floor that all the amps and batts are mounting too.

The allthread is there so i can use elevated flooring to hold more stuff in the back.

I'll add extra floors as time goes on.

IMAG0068.jpg

In case you're wondering, the left side wall is where the Sundown 100.4 is being mounted.

All those square holes on the bottom are "breathing vents" for my AQ3500ds. They will also be cooled by those 2 crossflow blowers i talked about earlier too.

More picture time.

I got the main floor base installed today. There will be 2 AQ amps mounted on this floor and a Sundown 100.4 mounted on the left side wall.

The extra all-thread to the far right will hold an elevated floor to the right to secure my batteries in place.

So, here are the pics-

IMAG0069.jpg

Here is material i use to ensure that all my amps i mount are protected from vibrations caused by bumps and holes in the road. This will ensure any amp i use will be in top notch shape.

I put these underneath all feet of all amps so no harm can be done to the insides of the amps-

IMAG0070.jpg

Here is a pic showing them under the feet-

IMAG0072.jpg

And here are both AQ amps mounted... -

IMAG0071.jpg

I will be attempting to get the sundown amp and al the wiring for the AQ amps done tomorrow... hopefully.

IMAG0074.jpg

I gotta get some more wire terminals before i can continue workin on it but it is insanely loud tuned in the high 50s the way it is right now off of just 2 15s turned half way up.

no tuning or anything, just a curious test-

I have 2 subs hooked up to the wall that is peaking at 58hz right now..

Have and will not do any tuning until the build is done so i was just curious as to what it was doing meter-wise.

Again, no batteries in the back yet so major voltage drop right now. Only my stock battery is up front in the car.

1 AQ3500d used to burp at 58hz, registered a 147.94... NO CLIPPED signal on a Hyperdynamics meter.

My meter comparison tests have shown my meter to be about 1.2 db lower than a TLab... ALSO, that was, again, no clipped signal.

Clipping the signal to the max would normally gain me around 1-1.5db ...

Add that to the score along with the difference in meters... i can probably break a 150 on a tlab right now with no tuning and no batts, :)

Big things are to come...

i also forgot to add that the wall is not sealed up at all yet....

I might have some more pics sometime this week of the install section.

just got done doing voltage drop testing with different battery configurations.

With NO battery in the rear off of 1 AQ3500d, voltage falls below 12.5v(exact unknown because audio is set to shutoff when this happens). Db =147.94 with 2 15s.

With 2 D5100s = 120aH off of 2 AQ3500ds and 4 15s, voltage started at 14.2v and immediately dropped to 13.4v then eventually worked it's way down to 12.0v even after a 7 sec burp. Db= not tested

With 1 D3100 and 1 D5100 off of 2 AQ3500ds and 4 15s, voltage started at 13.6v and eventually worked it's way down to 12.5v after a 7sec burp. Db=151.21.

So, i went from a 147.94 with 1 AQ3500d, 2 15s and no batts to a 151.21 with 2 AQ3500ds, 4 15s and 177aH worth of batts.

Keep in mind, the wall is NOT sealed, no car modifications for better score has been attempted yet, no port tuning, amps not 100% gain matched, and most importantly... 100% Clip-free signal!

Maximum current draw for these tests- 228A so there is some high rise for that frequency i used.

ok, pic a little dark but here is the back of the car now.

There is still lots of lights that are gonna be powered back there but this is the layout-

IMAG0075.jpg

I just took it out with phi to listen to a few songs...

Hehe, i think i scared him a couple times... it's VERY LOUD... still clip-free, non-sealed and amp's not gain matched yet.,, and tuned to 54hz!

Not a lot of songs i can play tuned to 54hz but i can still drop down to around 37hz before i start unloading. Pretty good, almost 20hz below tuning.

I will start building test ports for the rest of the month to start testing different designs.
