Oh man, this is a pain in the butt trying to cutout.

I'm surprised my sawzall is holding up. It's getting hot as hell, and the batteries and blades are getting hot.

Damn!

Yeah I will be cutting that metal out, I guess I gotta brace it!

I will be using 1-2 Sundown 3000D's

depending on how well they handle 187 watts, to 300 watts if I wire the amp to a low low ohm load.

I'll try it at 1 ohm and see if they get close to their mechanical limits.

I was gonna say- you might be sacrificing some structural integrity by cutting out that metal!

That sure was a lot of hard work just to get to square one.

I really hope the back end of your car doesn't fold up.

seriously dude, at least box in the structural boxes you cut out. you just removed a chit load of the stability of that car.

It's been done before by a buddy of mine, don't worry! I will re-enforce it!

If you're going to weld steel back in there, what was the point of removing that in the first place? :) Edit - just saw the bar stock you're using, that looks like it's going to snap like a twig, in all honesty...

I'm no structural engineer, but that just seems like a horrible idea in any kind of rear-end collision. Especially with a vehicle that's already going to have a very different weight distribution...

an L or I beam would've been far more effective at the top
