so now that we all know PETE is God, and knows all, would you even be open to suggestions from people here that have like 20+ yrs experience with both SQ, and SPL comps, and own, or work for a lot of these companies.?

Well I further discussed this with Pete and he is going to scratch this design and we are going to re-do a design for 4 DD 9510's or 3510's or 4 Fi BL 10's.. whatever I decide to go with, that way I can get all woofers to fire into the cabin, and will most likely be a horn hybrid

One problem I see with all the crazy designs is that Fi does not post the t/s parameters for the subs with different options, so if you do not have the standard sub listed, Pete is using t/s parameters that may not be exactly right.

Not saying he does not do some cool looking designs. . .just curious how he can be sure the designs are right for these subs.

oh and by the way slanting 18's i was told by Pete Kulicki, the best box designer i know, that slanting subs will affect the output ratio in acompatance to a sub that can be parallel or horizontal

Funny, in particular since your design uses a slanted baffle.

T/S parameters are great.

But let me shed a little light on t/s parameters. If you plug the parameters in for a BTL it will tell you to put it in a very very small sealed box, or a very very large sealed box for a flat response.

You can model something until your blue in the face, but when it comes down to it experience will always reign supreme. I'll NEVER use one of those boxes for the simple fact that I keep things very simple, because it works fantastic, and I know what it is going to sound like. That's what all of our recommendations are centered around on all of the woofers. Something that is for daily driving, musical, and it is what works best for the subs in a daily driving and musical scenario.

KISS principle in car audio is a fantastic thing, when you start ignoring it things tend to get complex...and problems start to pop up.

At the end of the day you are the one who has to listen to the subs, not me . I'm just a dumb ole guy that has a little bit of experience with speakers and can make a SQ car sound pretty good..and SPL cars pretty loud..and make ground pounders that take your breath away...

All of which are centered around the same principle, keep it simple, stupid.

I wonder why none of this nonsense is on DIYAudio, even when people build some pretty esoteric enclosure designs.
