Mag vs Flatline (Arc Audio)

Recommended Posts

I was hoping someone could give me thoughts on going from a 15" Mag in a 3cuft sealed box to a 12" Arc Audio Flatline in a 2cuft portet box tuned to 32hz. I'm happy with the Mag's output and sq but I think I want a little more output now. Does the Flatline keep the same sq as the Mag does? How is the output of the Flatline compared to the Mag? Are the lows of the Flatline as good as the Mags?

Thanks

If you want more output you are going in the wrong direction. Smaller sub & smaller box generically aren't going to yield you more output.

Yeah indeed. Maybe try porting the Mag if you have the room.

Thats a fair point. I guess I'm just looking for a "miracle" sub with the sq of the Mag and greater output (not that the Mag doesn't have enough output, just after awhile, you want more). Guess I'll have to try out the Mag in a ported box and see what happens then.

Yea, not gonna happen, the Mag is pretty much unanimously regarded as one of the best SPL to SQ sub on the market.

"Best" is a dangerous word, not quite sure I'd go there :)
