where can i go?

i'm new to car audio, but would really like to learn to custom build and fabricate (amongst other things), so i was wondering where i could go to learn to do those things. i know there are tutorials, but i learn better with hands-on experience, so are there any places anyone could suggest.

A great place for you to go if your looking to learn some fiberglass techniques is to http://glswrkz.com they have a forum on yahoo that you can apply to and it shows you how to make differnt types of enclousers and what not. Also a place to go would be http://sounddomain.com and search for a vehicle like yours and see what other people have already done to it. You can get some really good ideas from places like that.

glassworks is a nice site, but ive read many times that the vcds you buy from them are very blurry and dont cover all steps :ph34r:

You're just like myself. I could watch videos, get lessons from many experts, read every book in the world, etc..., etc...., and I could still not be any good at something. Once I get my hands on it though, it's a different story. If I were you, I would do a search on the web for various tutorials on whatever you plan to do, get yourself a starting point and a little understanding of the task at hand, and jump in head first and just start doin it. You will screw stuff up at first, but that's the best way to learn! Good luck and remember there are a lot of knowledgeable people here to assist you!! That's the fun in car audio!
