Build details

Vehicle:1994 gmc extended cab sierra

Subs: 2 Sundown Nightshades 18's (dont rape my pm box there is no more for several months)

Sub amps: 3000 per sub

Amps for active system: 1 100.4 per door

Amp for cdt componets (part of alarm): sundown 100.2

electrical: multiple runs 1/0 8 powermaster d3100's and 1 300 amp alt and one 175amp

sound deadening 290 sq ft of cascade

picture of box amprack and nightshade 18 below

I need help selecting drivers and some sort of sound processing.

the only drivers ive settled on are the Sundown e8's for upperbass/lower mid-bass frequency's. sound processing i have no idea on. 100.2 will be running a set of 4 inch cdt componets with are part of the alarm and will hardly ever be used with the rest of the audio system.

budget i would like to keep 800 ( does not include the amps or sundown 8's) or below cheaper is better but i dont want crap.

i was looking at dls stuff put that put me over budget.

also in need of a headunit with a pause button and 8v preouts

i currently have a denon dct-a1000

on a side note for $30.00 i will design your box make a 3d model and give a cutsheet. if needed i can also build and ship your box(more than $30.00)

Why the 8v preouts? It really doesn't make a difference.

As far as a processor, what do you want it to do? Crossover? Crossover and EQ? Crossover, EQ and time alignment? The preouts on the HU will make no difference at all once you add the processor after it in the signal chain and even the processor preout voltage isn't very important. 2V is plenty for any amp worth having to make full output with zero noise.

If all you're looking for is a crossover, the 100.4 has pretty much everyting that you need built in. Bridge one to run the 8s. Run the other normally to the mids and highs. The only thing that you'll need is a basic 2-way crossover to low pass the 8s (the amp will do the high pass) and high pass the mid-highs (the amp will do the division between the mids and tweets). You can pick up a basic Coustic crossover that is up to the task for $50 shipped NIB off eBay.

Mounting locations? Limitations? Processing? Goals?

Mounting locations? Fiberglass doorpods

Limitations? What do you mean? only limitations i can think up is there is no room from the front seats back.

Processing? Whatever i can do to sound the best and still stay in my budget<

Goals? A clean sounding SQ based system that will keep up with the bass.

I need to choose proceesing now

i will be using audiocontrol products.

my plan was to use the DQXS but i don think i can. the reason i say this is because seeing that im using one 100.4 per door whatever, paremeters i entered into the DQXS would go to all 4 channels on the 100.4 and each channel on the 100.4 needs a different crossover point etc etc.

do i basically either need to do active crossovers on each channel. or switch to 4 100.2 amps?

or could i do this since the each 100.4 has 4 channels 2 front 2 rear. i could use one 100.4 for both the sundown 8's and the dls mids. and then the other one for the tweets and other mids.

^probably doesnt make any sense

By limitations I really meant space and firing directions. Also driver diameters.

I am assuming you mean a 3 way front stage and subs.

If you get the idea of using a 100.4 per door the crossovers on the 100.4 will do all of your frequency division for you. Bridge both pairs of channels on one to run the 8s and then run the other normally with the tweets on one pair of channels and the mids on the other pair. Then you just need an EQ.
