Want a 200 Amp alt, which company?

Recommended Posts

I drive a 2001 GMC Jimmy 4 door with a 4.3L Vortec V6 and want a 200 amp or so alternator to replace my stock one with and would like recommendations on what companies to look at. I am considering Excessive Amperage, Mean Green, PowerMaster and KnuKonceptz. There were others but I forgot them. Any feedback is appreciated.

KnuKonceptz's price probably better looking, but I've heard nothing but good about PowerMaster.

If you get some quotes, please let me know what you get quoted. I drive a 99 Blazer with the same engine and I'll be looking for a 200 amp alternator as well in the coming month(s). I was considering Excessive Amperage and PowerMaster. I've heard Iraggi is on and off and I haven't heard a whole lot about ohio generators, mean green, or knukonceptz alternators.

Ohio's are $$$, as of late Excessive Amperage and PowerMaster seem to be great choices.

There needs to be an electrical section for this kinda stuff, but anyway back on topic here. give www.highoutputalternator.com a look as well, they are a little pricey but Phil takes care of his customers. i have installed a couple of thier units here at the shop and have always had great results and reliability with them.

If you go to the main page of the forum, read the description under this section. ;)
